I recently received an email advertising specials and availability from one of our local ladies that I have only met once way over a year ago.  I don't have a problem so much receiving emails from a lady on my hobbying email address that I have seen.  However, what I do have an issue with is the fact that the name associated with my email address (thankfully, not my real name) and email address, as well of those of her other "friends", are completely visible to each of the recipients.  While I am smart enough to use a discreet email address and not list my real name with that email address, it appears that some guys weren't as wise.

So ladies, just a friendly reminder, if you are going to send out a mass email please use discretion and somehow make your mailing list invisible.

I have to admit I have slipped up a couple times but the few times I have I was reminded to BCC and it wasn't a big deal...  Take care, Sage

I was on that email list. I do acknowledge it was an honest mistake on the providers part, but I couldn't believe the amount of people who used their real names and emails! There were emails from work, law firms, etc!

I always tell people to EDIT THEIR PROFILE and not ever use their name . In my mails it is the persons responsibility to do his part . I do mine and I never reply all or am sloppy about mailing my schedule
from my list . I stress time and time again to create a handle and edit the senders information . Sorry you
had this happen to you . Did you notify her?

Angela

Yeah, I got that email too, and was stunned to see how many guys used emails with their real names attached, including company website names .   Word to the wise, set up a dummy email account with a fake name, and don't use it for anything else if you are going to hobby!
