This one is for the ladies. If you were out and about and a man walks by and pays you a random compliment out of the blue, is that appreciated? I will do that at times just to see the smile on a woman's face and how a little comment can brighten someone's day. Just curious.
compliments are always welcome but if it seems like are you only complimented a girl to get something in return and they are in a rush, do not be surprise if some girls just pass you by

Comments on my body or how "sexy" I look or particular body parts make me uncomfortable and, if it's very audible and I'm surrounded by people, it's embarassing.
However, if it's a genuine compliment about my appearance, I'm relatively indifferent. If it's on my style, or something I'm wearing or even my makeup, I'm usually really appreciative, 'cause it's obviously something I did to appear pretty, if that makes sense.
a lot of times, i will see a woman and ask her if anyone has told her how beautiful she is today. then i tell her she is beautiful. love putting s iles on ladies faces that way.
....and, if I see a person, especially a man, who is looking particularly fetching I like to compliment others too. I feel men almost never get enough random compliments on appearance, so if I notice a good job done on looking great, I like to let them know. People in general don't get enough sincere compliments; that's why some women are skeptical of nice things said to them--usually they are wondering how sincere it was, and how much is simply someone trying to get something from them.
I really like to make people smile, and because I am genuine in that desire, I am genuine in my compliments. I can make someone's day! One of the best feelings to me is to give someone that boost of happiness.
I hate to be a Negative Nancy but personally, I'd find that to be super corny. It'd be way less cheesetastic if you just said "You're beautiful" without the Don Juan preface. Sometimes it sounds more sincere (and less like a cheesy pickup line) if you say something more specific. For example: I was walking to class the other day. I passed this dude on the sidewalk and he just said "You have really beautiful hair." Made my day.
