I am new to the business and but that seems to be really bad business to just stand someone up without having a REALLY good reason. Even though it would have to be something REALLY, REALLY serious, but all a girl has to do is call!!

Sorry that you guys got stood up. I guess it happens, but thats what the boards are for, so hopefully it lessons the chances of happening to someone else. And maybe those girls will loose some business and realize that EVERYONE's time is important!!
Saw an ad for a relatively new provider. She had 3 positive reviews so I called and setup an appointment. Called 15 minutes prior to confirm and get location. Everything good up to that point. Arrive at a low end motel and call her at the top of the hour as scheduled. Guess what - no answer and couldn't leave a message. Tried again a few minutes later - same thing. I probably wasted a good hour of my time here. 45 minutes later, she calls and asks me where I'm at and that she didn't hear the phone ring - yeah right! If anyone wants the name of this provider - pm me.
It's one thing if she doesn't pick up immediately but the full voicemail box is a real pain. Providers really need to keep their VM available. If we can't leave a message and you don't pick up, guess what? We're not gonna stick around very long.
My limit is 10 minutes from the time of the first call. I understand if she can't get to the phone at the very moment I'm calling. I'll leave a VM if possible and wait up to 10 minutes for a callback. If her VM is full, I'll try calling 5 minutes later and one last time 5 minutes after that. No answer and I'm gone. I had one provider call me back 20 minutes after the start time. I was half-way back to work and she expected me to turn around and come back. NO. If you're running that late, call or text us, let us know you're late, and give us the option to wait or cancel. Leaving us hanging makes us nervous. We don't like sitting in parking lots or driving around in circles drawing unwanted attention to ourselves.
It works both ways. I always call if I'm stuck in traffic and won't get there on time. I give her the option to shorten or cancel the appointment or do the full amount of time. It's her choice. I think that's fair and it should work both ways IMHO.
Happened to me on Friday. Made appt., with an 'experienced' provider, for Friday. Called on Friday morn to confirm. Let provider know I would call when I got to 'her' requested intersection. Arrived 15-20 minutes before, called for about 45 minutes and no answer.
