I had a vasectomy a few weeks ago. The cut has closed but there's still a small scab left. It's still somewhat tender to the touch but I'm feeling the need to participate in hobby. Question is, is it safe for the ladies and myself? Would providers prefer I wait til it's completely healed. Thanks for the help!

Yes-any scab down there is going to be viewed quite negatively. Put some Polysporin on it daily until the scab or scabs fall off.

for everyone's safety, covered even for oral if the scab is on your penis.  A scab is only dried  blood and can indicate the area underneath is not sealed.  A risk for you.  Contact with blood is a risk for the lady.

if i remember correctly your required to wait 30 days to insure it takes other wise you may have to do it again

You should be just fine to resume intercourse.
If it is past 2 weeks you should be sterile
Take it slow because the delicate tissue inside
are still healing but you should be fine. Some
neosporin on the small area covered with gauze
during sex will protect you from any bacteria
or infection. Did you have micro surgery ? This
is even better if you did . But if you feel pulling then your stitches may be still internally healing. Yes you are safe just take it slow and easy which I think most of you guys like! And no trips to greece at this time lol!

If that scab is there, it means it is still healing...if it falls off, you are open to anything from stds, hep c or herpes, the list goes on?

I would hope most would feel the same.

I'm no Dr, but when I looked into a snip-job a year or so back, I rememeber the doc saying that recovery time to full usage would be 2-3 weeks, or (like another said) you could mess up the work that was done.  On the scab issue, I'm sure some ladies would be willing to participate due to their own comfort level and ability to avoid infection through being careful, but personally I would not.  I gave myself a small razor cut on my sac one time the day before a meeting and was put off enough to call off the date.  I might add that the provider thanked me for doing so even though it was 1 day before the meeting.  I'm sure it would have been safe, but MY confort level wasn't there.  I did reschedule and complete the date a week or so later and had a great time.  Unless the provider you are thinking of is on her 'last tour' of Chicago, she will always be there next time.  Be safe and take a cold shower.  Party in a week or 2.

A scab can fall off during friction and creat an unsafe situation for you and the provider.

Listen to the advise of the reputable posters here and wait until it's safe for you and your partner of choice, provider or civie.

First, you are no where near ready.
Second, you are to be retested six weeks after the procedure for a second sperm count.  Your doctor should have told you that.
Third, any scab is wrong.  You need to wait until you are completely healed where the scab falls off naturally (no picking)

* Discomfort following a vasectomy is usually mild, but expect to take time to rest and recuperate for a few days.
* Follow your doctor’s instructions, including his direction regarding rest and the use of pain medications and/or antibiotics.
* Many men begin to resume regular work activities after a few days of rest following the procedure.
* Sexual activities can usually be resumed after one to two weeks, but sterility is not immediate.
* Your doctor will provide instructions regarding semen sample testing during the weeks following a vasectomy.

Sperm can remain in semen for a period of 3-6 months after your vasectomy.  It takes 10-20 ejaculations before any remaining sperm is released.  Your doctor will advice you as to when to bring a sample for testing, usually 4-6 wks post op then every 3 wks until sterility is confirmed microscopically.  Only your doctor can determine when you are sterile.  As to your original question if a scab comes of prematurely it will most likely bleed, so that would be NO on being ready from a strictly hobby stand point.  On a personal note, Its your BALLS man, take an extra 2 weeks off so you don't accidentally do any long term damage.

Really?  It's a scab. Scabs fall off and bleed.  The site you copied from, is just that- a reference site. You are not a doctor, nurse, or even an EMT.

The OP was silly for expecting 100% intellegent answers, you did not have to subscribe to to the alternative.

Anything that is or can open is not safe. Personally, if that were me, I would wait until it is 100% healed.

thats your safest bet.  I'm sure you are in a hurry to try out your equipment, to make sure everything still works... but it is not worth taking any chance.

Plus, if its somewhat tender to the touch, imagine it would be even more tender if you pushed things and started to hobby to quickly.  Plus, as everyone else has stated, you don't want to do anything that will jeopardize the success.

And, as I pointed out, I am not entire sure of the safety of participating in the hobby with a cut that has not completely healed.

Be patient.  Good things are worth waiting for!!!
