I'd imagine they are hoping that you're hard up for cash, and aren't getting regular appointments. The laws of economics are always in play, and I'm sure there are providers that will feel a little desperate and take a low ball offer. I'm not saying I agree with the practice or condone it, but it is what it is. I will keep an eye out for a special from a lady I wouldn't normally see, but I wouldn't waste your time and insult you with an offer like that. Some of us have enough respect for you ladies, but I think quite a few don't.

I wonder how this clown would feel if his boss asked him to perform his job at a reduced or discounted rate.

Guys who do this target younger providers thinking you're inexperienced. They're probably the same guys looking for $200 providers on BP.

I think it is downright insulting when people do that.

Like you said, if it was a regular fine. I, too, am understanding of regulars. But when someone calls you for the first time and tries to negotiate, it kills me. You are not at the FLEA MARKET!

I general will save the number and not answer it again if I am really offended.

The way I look at it, it must work with some girls. Otherwise they wouldn't ask. Its so frustrating.

.....like a 15min. rate or a much lower donation (which is especially annoying when you're already incredibly reasonable/moderately priced to begin with). They are either trying their luck because it's worked or they just enjoy the thrill of asking.  When a guy you've never met before insists on a lower rate because he wants to become a regular is a red flag to 99% of the time lol. I don't put it most of my ads my rates are non-negotiable because I assume most know better but I do have it on my site.

Why would a potential client ask you to lower your rates just for them, when you've never even met this person? I make it clear on my site and so do most other providers that the rates are never negotionable. If I have met u and especially enjoy your company, I may offer you a discount. But my question is why would someone you've never even met or spoken to send u an email and his first conversation to you ever is basically will you take less than what's listed on the website.

I agree with the prior posters, but 1)he may be one of those people who thinks he can/ should negotiate everything, not limited to the services of providers 2) I bet it has worked for him with a provider before (you did ask "why?")

Accountants and lawyers get questions like that from prospective new clients, too.  It's not always a matter of disrespect to them, but I would assume it is with a provider.

My question is what happened then. I'm just curious.   Obviously you said no, but was it a non- response/go away insulted no (which would be my recommendation) or just a "no".

EVERYTHING is negotiable.

Hotel.  I can go to their website and book a room.  Or I can negotiate on Priceline or look at Hotwire and based on some clues can get that same hotel for less money. I truly doubt the hotel gets pissed because they didn't get the posted rack rate.

I don't believe I am an asshole, and I will say I have never negotiated the donation with a provider, other than asking one lady that I had seen several times if she could offer a half hour rate. If I believe a provider's rate is too high, I won't contact her, regardless of my desire to see her.

Having said that...often, providers here on this board rail on hobbyists about how this is a business and don't let personal lives intermingle, cancellation of appointments, yada, yada. Ok, then if that is the case, in business  the "value" of something has many price points. All professional sport athletes think they are worth zillions.  Sports owners want to keep costs down and they look at the marketplace for people with the same or similar skills for the lowest possible price.  That's why agents and lawyers are involved. Players can let their egos get in the way, or they can realize its business.

Now I might get flamed for this statement...If I have seen a provider and I want her to spend a weekend with her and I am paying for all her creature comfort and expenses and she asks for over 15K for less than 72 hours, damn Skippy Peanut Butter I am going to try to negotiate rate

You are a fool if you believe legitimacy comes from simply printing a word. Go ahead and pay the MSRP for a car because its printed in English Bubba.

I don't have an issue with someone asking if I can do something got them if we know each other. Everyone hits tough patches financially.. My issue is when its someone who had never seen me before, thinking that they can tell mewhat they think my rate should be and expecting me to just give it rip them! I feel my rates are more than fair .

Sometimes that is true and sometimes it is not.

As has been discussed on this board periodically THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN PRICE AND PERFORMANCE.

My ATF of all time had a $$$$/hour rate; and was worth every cent. However one of the worst experiences of my hobby career was a $$$$$ provider from SF.

The way to protect yourself from a potentially bad experience is to do your research. Query other hobbyists. Make sure the provider has MANY good reviews which have a repetitive theme to them. If you have seen a provider who she doubles with and have a good relationship with her; ask her about it.

This is not a hobby for the faint of wallet. You have to pay to play. With that being said absolutely do not think because one provider's hourly donation is $$$$$$ that she is twice as good as another who's donation is $$$.

Do your research.

This is a business, albeit a very personal one. Each provider advertises what she feels her hourly donation is worth. We as hobbyists have the obligation to show up, be respectful, and have fun. In the past another ATF asked me if I would entertain a frequent-flier type of situation where I advanced a large sum for a discount on multiple appointments of time. She was trustworthy enough that we did this until she retired.

The bottom line is do your research and find the best match for the donation which you can afford. But always be aware that donation and performance NEVER have a direct correlation.

Just my .02

The only thing I'm good at negotiating is the price of a car. Other than that, I hate it. I never negotiate, I just pay the price listed. I don't care if people think that makes me a sucker or whatever. I won't say that every experience I've had in this industry has been awesome, but I've never felt ripped off. Some people like to negotiate, some don't.

and by regular, more than every few months and I know their situation. In fact my regulars are at least once a month.

I had a regular spend all sorts of cash on other women that week, and then proceed to ask for 1/2 off because "he didn't have any money". Loyalty goes both ways.

Plenty of people negotiate (in all sorts of businesses), but when it has to do with bodies and a new person... don't be surprised when they hang up on you or stop responding. It is degrading. Very personal what we all do.

I dislike lowballers and yeah I get many girls are desperate... but I keep track of my money (and am also a customer orientated gal who sees you weather my bills are due or not). I can have plenty in the bank and still make time for you. I don't have to be broke for this! PS: smarter way of doing things :

What about when one rate is listed in the ad, and even when you talk the girl states one rate - non -negotiable, but when you get there she upsells a bunch of things?

So this is the reverse of asking for a discount.  This is trying to increase the prices.

What do you think of this?  When a bunch of standard things get put in as upsells?

Why? Because people will try to get away with anything they can!!! Not everyone will do this but some will try. I feel if someone does this its because they don't feel just yet that you are worth what your asking for... so I say bump them!! Get past the "nos" to get to the "yeses" :-) keep smiling don't sweat the small stuff!
