Pictures are alluring, text and concept while a bit cute for me, show real wit, creativity and intelligence. The look does recall some sort of park service site, which adds to the effect. Nice site, and one that has everything needed to attract me.
Not perfect, though, so here are a few suggestions/comments.
Since there is so much going on, the site loads a little slowly (I used IE just for variety's sake). You can either view that as a problem for some (on low speed connections or with short attention spans) or as a screening technique to eliminate such clients. The navigation works pretty well, but the obscure names for the menu choices goes a little over the line for me. Even some who might have the wit and wherewithal to play will be put off by that. You might want to put more informative descriptions below the current items so Tap might have (about) below it, Syrup could have (images), Water could say (necessities), Climb (to meet). Forecast seems reasonably self-explanatory. I know that it detracts from the overall effect, but it makes the site more easily usable, a necessary goal, even if it may reduce the glorious artistry of it all. Remember, you have less than a minute to reel someone in, and if they cannot easily find what they want, you lose them.
Now I get the reference to Shadyville.
