Chicago man charged with forcing women into prostitution
A Chicago man faces human trafficking charges for allegedly using violence and death threats to force women to work as prostitutes in Chicago and the suburbs.

According to prosecutors, XXXXX targeted and recruited three women in different neighborhoods between May and August 2010 and allegedly put them to work as prostitutes. He allegedly took sexually provocative photos of the women and posted them in internet ads for escort services, according to a release from the state's attorney's office.
XXXXX, who had the women call him “Magnificent,” would rent motel rooms in the city and suburbs where the women would live with him, according to the release. The women would sometimes service eight to 12 customers per day, with XXXXX keeping all the money, the release said.

I think these ads are pretty easy to spot. What a tool.

To End Demand, women do not enter into anything related to the world of commercial erotisism under their own consent.  To them there is no difference between a street walker who is being bullied and forced, and the escort.  End Demand believes that all providers, regardless of who, what, how and why, are all psycologically damaged from abuse.  End Demand is God and they know all of the answers.

I thought it was interesting that in the press release that chiandrea linked to there was no mention of the increased penalties for regular prostitution offenses OTHER than mention of the increased impound fees which will pay for victims services and police operations:

"The act allows law enforcement to impound any vehicle used for a variety of human-trafficking and prostitution-related crimes, creating a funding mechanism to support victim services and police operations."

So basically, if you get caught in a consensual pay for play situation you're gonna have to pay more, like 1 grand to get your car outta impound because, you know, you're a big bad prostitutor so you may as well pay into a fund to protect exploited women because what you've done is hardly different from raping a fourteen-year-old trafficking victim. Seriously, these people look at VIP escorts working outta 5 star hotels making $1000 an hour and see victims. Gimme a break. When is someone gonna look at the shit hours I work for shit pay and shit benefits while taking lots of shit from my shithead boss and decide I'm exploited and need protection?

I ran that calculation BTW. I work 10 hours for one hour with a typical-rate provider. Ever since I ran that calculation, I've been hobbying less for some reason.
