Also, you get a plethora of lewd messages and people from foreign countries begging for video clips and pics. It's nice to have people have insight into your life that you've met or just plain ole' fans of the industry. I'd suggest you email the provider or message her and ask for access. Yes, the follower request rack up, but all we mostly see tons of egg icon and sometimes people have no followers or tweets. Make yourself known and I'm sure they will follow back.
What's the point of ladies providing a link to their twitter accounts if they are privacy protected? And then don't respond to follow requests? Just sayin'...
If they're not regularly active on Twitter it may take a few days (or more) for them to accept your follow request. I've never been denied a follow request from a provider. Privacy protection is just another way to keep the hobby discrete and somewhat UTR.

Egghead with no interactions, followers or following? NO
Sociopath (or really anyone, frankly) that likes to troll companions asking them inappropriate questions, and/or pitying, hating, "saving", etc? NO
Random person whom comes across your account -- neither a potential client nor another entertainer -- HELL NO.
Generally, if you already on twitter, make an effort to NOT look like you are a bot or creepy lurker. Quite possibly then you might get a response.
*TIP* If anyone is thinking about joining twitter, create a client account. I deny so many guys access because they use their personal accounts to try to follow me. Geez.
