False alarm this time. They think the 30-day AIM test is sufficient but a few smart ones test every 2 weeks. Since there are false positives, you have to wonder if there are also false negatives...

Avy Scott is probably the most outspoken adult star when it comes to condom use. She won't shoot BB and she has enough power to demand it. Unfortunately most adult stars have no choice and must rely on the 30-day AIM test.

Guys, think about this when you see porn stars blowing through town. Even with proper protection, the risk is much higher.

Let's update you info.  AIM has been shut down for months due to the AIDS Founation and poliicaal reasons.  This has put our safety at risk.  The QUALITY of the test and ability to verify a person's test is whats important here which is why AIM was so important.  They used the highest quality that won't miss viruses.  Now I personally will NOT work with anyone that isn't tested with Talent Testing.  No private doctor test, no free clinic tests, etc.

Keep in mind that just beause someone in the industry gets sick, does not mean they got it on set.  Most professional in the industy are very protective of their health.  If we get sick, we're done shooting,, no one will work with us.  If someone gets sick on a set, no one will want to work with that producer because he/she will get a reputation of not double checking everyone's test or accepting tests that can't be verified.  The industy shuting down is not unusal, it keeps everyone from working until we are are re tested and the performers that worked with the sick person are tested multiple times.

I NEVER and mean NEVER do BB when I'm providing, regardless if my client has a test or not.  For me, the higher risk is providing because I see more client than shoot.

It really comes down to each individual person.  There are very responsible escorts out there that have nothing to do with porn that take responbiity for their own health and play safe and get tested. Others could be sick and never know it.  With a porn star, testing will stop us from working.

Anyone in the hobby chooses to take a risk and it can not be eliminated, only minimized.

Not pointing fingers at anyone in particular but the vast majority of us in the hobby play safely. The fact that BB is done in porn makes anyone crossing over less safe for those of us who never do BB. When AIM was active, 30-day testing was the norm in the industry. A 30-day test couldn't guarantee that nothing is being passed during BB shoots. While you play safe during escorting, can you say that about every other porn star who escorts? Every outbreak I've heard of resulted from sex with an SO or BB adventures outside of the biz just as you said. A lot can change in the 30 days leading up to the newest test. The only way you can know for certain that a partner is safe for BB is if he/she hasn't had sex since the hour that last negative test was taken. So unless the test is fresh on the day of the shoot, you don't really know. In fact, you don't know at all because people don't talk about their private sex lives and that's where most of the spreading starts, just as you said.

Your safety and our safety in the hobby is directly connected to your screening and the services you offer. Because you participate in BB with multiple partners, you must be extra careful about any type of fluid exchanges including BBBJ and DATY. Being a PS provider, cutting off those services would significantly hurt your business. Which is why I think Avy has been right all along in laying down the law and not giving in to BB in the industry. She has plenty of scenes out there, condoms are being worn, and that doesn't make her any less hot or her videos any less exciting. If she can do it and make a living, others can too.

So what is being done for testing now that AIM is gone? How are those of you in the adult industry getting tested these days? For any of us desiring to see PS, this is valuable information and you're in the know.

Can't find the original website this was posted on, (it was discussed on a porn webmaster forum) but here's the text....

With the recent HIV scares and the big controversy over cross over talent there is one subject that seems to be constantly ignored that is a very serious double standard.

Porn stars escorting. I have been over this before and taken quite a beating for speaking out but I don’t fucking care. It needs to be said. If a girl goes and fucks some random guy in a hotel room and then continues to show up to sets to shoot how is that not being addressed as high risk for the rest of the industry?

If a girl gets her test on August 20 and fucks strangers in hotel rooms and does movies until September 19 when she tests again how is that not a very serious concern for OSHA and all the people screaming about the recent HIV crisis? It’s almost as if it isn’t really happening.

The reality is there are very few "Porn Stars" anymore. The huge majority are escorts who shoot some movies on the side to keep their per hourrates high. And please try and tell me that these girls who are being flown to Dubai for weekends for $50,000 are using condoms and tests are being provided by sheiks and princes!

That is enough to make me choke with laughter. It’s a very well-known fact that young boys are considered a delicacy in the Arab world and if theyare passed around into the mix with American Porn Stars where is OSHA and all the other harpies on this issue?

I think that the girls who escort should have to be regulated by the industry and that the few of us who actually earn our money by not fucking strangers in hotel rooms she be made aware of who is escorting and who isn’t and when their last test was. Of course this isn’t going to happen because that would be a massive undertaking and would require an organization that would have to be independent and have no bias to the industry or those in it and we all know that will never happen.

So we can all point fingers at the gay side of the industry which I totally agree is fucked up and very scary, but so many with a platform to actually make awareness on this issue are being silent? Why? I agree that studies show that HIV is very hard to pass from a woman to a man, but herpes or a list of other STD’s aren’t and it’s proven that people with STD’s are much more susceptible to HIV and blood-born virus’ than those without it.

I will be called a hypocrite and told that fucking on camera is no different than fucking strangers in hotel rooms and all of that but I don’t care. I don’t care if a girl is a whore or not, privately or publicly. I care that they are doing it with strangers and then showing up to set the following day without a test in between and putting my health at risk and the health of everyone else and no one who counts and can do something about it is saying a fucking word.

I fully understand what you're saying  here.  I personally do not offer PSE, just GFE.  There are lots of girls who do condom-only scenes.  Wicked is a condom-maditory company and does very well.  I would love to see the industry go all condom.  As for testing, we are tested every 28 days however, that does't mean that we have to shoot with anyone who has a test 27 days old.  Many of us require the test to be newer than that.  When you understand that there are careers are at risk here, you'll realize that when escorting, most porn stars play safe.  If we get sick, no one will work with us.  We don't just show up with a piece of paper that says we're clean, producers either call or go online with Talent Testing (the testing place used now) to verify we're clean.  There are the few that will do BB with a client if he's tested, I will not do this. I've been asked to do this lots of times and always said no.   I shoot 10 -15 scenes a year. The other things I do besides escorting do not put me at risk (dancing, webcam, selling merchandise, trade shows, etc) I see more clients than that a year.  For me, the higher risk group is escorting clients. Testing itself does not prevent anyone from getting a disease however, it's kept us safe to a great extent.  We all have 'no' lists, if a performer gets a reputation for being careless in their personal lives, it is harder for them to find work because they end up on so many  'no' lists.  I can't speak for any other performers, only myself.  I get tested every 28 days and I've never had anything.  I know performers that are legends that have never had anything.   I know some that just started out and tested positive.  When it hits the media, negative sells and blaming it on being in the indusstry is easy and exciting.  If the story didn't get your attention, it doesn't sell.

Theres a misconception out there that porn performers are generally more careless with out bodies and health than the general population.  We're more cautious because our income and ability to support ourself and our families are at risk. I have been offered work by producers who will take a test from a free clinic, private doctor, etc.  I do not work with these guys, their smaller producers, pay less and really don't care about the fact that is someone gets sick on their set, it will be very hard for them to shoot professional performers.  No performer wantes to work with anyone that does NOT veirfy tests with Talent Testing or accepts tests from anyone else.  I will only work with those that new Talent Testing tests that have been verified.

When it comes to testing, it's more than just a piece of paper that goes along with it.  I have absolutely no problem with condoms, the safer the better.  Condoms can break so I think even if the industry did make condoms manditory, testing still has it's place and shouldn't be eliminated.

I can honestly say I get tested every 28 days and chances are girls in porn are tested more often than the average escort.  That being said, I personally know of escorts that are responsible enough to get tested, how often varies from girl to girl and where also varies.  A free clinic is the lowest quality of test and can miss virsuses.  Private doctor's tests vary and the higher quality tests are more expensive.  Lots of people simply don't know to ask for certain tests and will do what's cheapest.  Talent Testing and AIM (before they were shut down by the AIDS Foundation and ignorant politicians) use the highest qualaity of test that will not miss a virus.   Their more expensive and take longer.

We are all responsible for our own health and safety.  If you are uncomfortable seeing anyone for any reason, don't see them.  We all have to live with ourselves after the appointment.  No one is 100 percent safe in this hobby, we all decide how much of a risk we want to take.  If you are uncomfortable seeing a porn star that does BB, by all mean, don't.  In the end, it doesn't matter what I say  or what any other performer says the do to stay safe.  You're comfort and sense of safety are important and only you are responsible for that.

I ran across Talent Testing after reading your post and a few others on another board. I'm glad there's a high-quality testing service to replace AIM - that makes us all a bit more comfortable.
