But I've been seeing them post every couple months for about 6-8 months and upside was high. I texted them and got nice pics in return, plus assurances all was good. So I decided to TOFTT.
Here was the scam. I confirm I'm coming. I text them when I am on my way. I get to their hotel (20 miles each way for me). Only then do I get a text saying, oh by the way, new clients we insist you have to run out to a store and get a prepaid Vanilla Reload. For our protection. I'm like, really, cash is no good? Oh no, baby, not for new customers. Gotta admit in 20+ years I never heard that one. When I told them only scammers insisted on something other than cash and that they should have told me before I drove out there, of course I got the whine about how they believe in karma and I'm a mean person. I turned and ran. At least it only cost me two gallons of gas (I get shitty mileage), an hour of my time and half a Viagra.

I'm really not sure why this scam is proliferating so rapidly. The only time I ask for a deposit is on an extended session or for a doubles session; I never ask anyone to pay in full before the scheduled session. Prepaying in full for anything up front just screams "something is wrong, here".
So, you're supposed to show up with a prepaid card, drop the card, and then they refuse services? Do they insist you also slide the card under the door before they open it? This just seems to be setting people up for all kinds of unwarranted trouble, and it honestly seems like a scam not too many people would fall for (hopefully, anyway). I'm glad you turned around and saved yourself the hassle.
While I'm not stupid, please explain the "scam" part? They wanted a specific form of payment. Had you actually done that, and knocked on the door, what would you expect to find? LE? Or some other girls? Maybe I'm not getting the scam part. If you gave them cash and then didn't perform, that's one thing. If you give them the card and they didn't perform, same thing? Only if they are LE and the card is proof that you did what they asked, would this be an issue.

What scares me is that they're apparently a couple of youngish girls openly ripping people off in an industry where things can get very heavy very fast. They're even bigger idiots for doing this than if they were just posting "anything goes" ads on BP and not screening anyone. Eventually they're gonna rip off some nutcase or a gangbanger with anger problems and get themselves beaten up or killed. Stupid, stupid, stupid kids.
Now that makes sense. But I would NEVER give them the PIN without meeting them in person. Would be the same as handing over cash. So I see the scam now. Shame on them.
How are they going to get beaten up or killed? They're nowhere near the location they send the hobbyist to and they never actually meet anyone. It's all perpetrated over the phone. Hopefully they're smart enough to use a burner phone paid for in cash.
You think nobody else has ever pulled this scam before and a couple of 19 year olds somehow have it over on everyone and there's nobody else smarter than them? Give me a break.
I just smelled a rat immediately and was not interested in finding out the actual mechanics of how they were going to screw me. It was like I got an email letting me know I had been selected to assist in the transfer of $55 million from the Central African Republic. Like, you mean people actually fall for that crap?
