It’s been a while since I’ve been on here

It's not like the old days when the boards were very active.  I started checking the site again a few months ago and it's been rather slow around here.  I was hoping that things would have picked up when TER returned to the US, but it seems like social media like twitter has become more popular.  

I, too, have seen subtle changes in TER since their return but I am not on Twitter (or other social) so I am unclear about this. Does Twitter only have ads? I have seen links to Twitter in some reviews. Or are there reviews on Twitter as well?  Does it throw everyone together or are things broken down by region/city as they are on TER? I really dread the thought of having to get on Twitter (or other social) to meet up with someone. I use TER exclusively to meet new people. Hope that will still be possible in the future.

Twitter is a social media platform accessible by the general public. It's not a hobby or review board like TER so no reviews. A lot of providers are on twitter and use it to promote themselves.  Although, you need to know their twitter username in order to find and follow their account so you can see what they're posting.  You basically interact with others by posting short posts called tweets.  It's free to create a twitter account and you could signup with an alias, if you want to check it out.  Although, I still use TER for reviews.
