I was wondering if you lovely friends could give me some suggestions on places to go for night-life in the West Burbs. I will be coming to Oak Brook today.

Also, how are the haunted houses in the area?

Grotto or Red Stone you will love.  Both have outdoor patios and the Oak Brook gents are out in full force.

Not sure of the exact address but it is on Butterfield Rd.  Nice place. Good drinks, little older crowd.  You mayhave to go a little further west and a little south to Naperville IL, where there are some restaurants/clubs. In Oakbrook proper, plenty of great places to eat, but not really any clubs.

As far as haunted houses, many spring up but i believe the better ones are out near Joliet Illinois which is a little bit of a drive from Oakbrook. There is a nice one near the Statesville Penitentiary. I would say google "haunted houses Wheaton IL" "haunted houses Aurora IL" "haunted houses Naperville IL" and see what pops up.

Lounges / clubs:

1) Try The Grotto  3011 Butterfield Rd
..especialy this Friday night. Its a Lounge / club for an older crowed ( 25-45 ) no young kids.

2) Redstone...13 Lincoln Center..off of butterfield road..same as above but with a big beautiful outdoor patio / beer garded

3) The Sky Oakbrook...1600 16th St

As far as upscale sportsbars..there is The Brickhouse, and Millers Pub

Restaurants... there are a ton of great restraunts in the area , Gibsons, Capital Grille , Ditkas, Maggianos, and about 20 + more

Good advice on the lounges, and yes, there are some good restaurants, but all you listed were the overpriced chains.

Greek Islands in Oakbrook Terrace is very good, I like the bar in Mon Ami Gabi at Oakbrook Mall for oysters and a crisp white wine, and Tuscany in Lombard offers excellent, upscale Italian. Lots of other good places if you need resto recommendations, but hard to know what to suggest without some idea of what you like. Portillos is not too far away, for example, if you want a good Chicago hot dog.

If the schedule was a little different, might have tried to meet and then we could discuss this, and whatever else popped up, Miss Bridget, and I would have given you some personalized advice, but it was not meant to be.
