I want to get a phone to register on RS2K and use for the hobby. What is the best way to get a phone like a Trac phone without giving out my personal info? Is my personal info required to get a cell phone?
Can I get a cell phone at a convenaince store just by paying cash and not giving my info?

Its free and everyone uses it, just go there, you request an invite,get an email, pick a number, register it to a real phone. When you want to use it you route the calls, when you don't you go online and turn off forwarding. They also transcribe the voicemails and email and text them even if you want. The only thing is if you register with RS2K, you have to call providers from that phone, when you make outgoing calls your real number will show - UNLESS you install the Google Voice software on your phone which must be a BB, Android or IPhone (far as I know).

Also, as far as getting a pay as you go phone, no, you don't give them any info, that's the point of the phone ; ) But you WILL give RS2K information to be verified, they kinda are a verification service. But their website says all info is destroyed after they verify you, and they are the best, no complaints here. Something else notable, the girls on RS2K's website are ALSO verified so you know they're safe to see.

Just go to CVS and get a pay as you go phone with a charge card.  You pay cash for it and never have to give out your personal info.  You can buy subsequent charge cards with cash.

I have encryption software on my phone.

Sometimes you can download it to your phone, and sometimes some phones even have security features.

Personally, I have international phone calls, 900 numbers, and a few other restrictions locked into my phone.

Not a smart phone though... Im too paranoid about tracability.

You can most likely double this up with your phone for greater peace of mind
