I know I know I feel bad for the poor cute animals
but I love Mink, Rabbit and Fur in general. Fur coats keep you
much warmer in cold weather than any thing else.
If you'd like to really spoil me
~hint hint, I need a long fur coat~

That is why I got a wishlist.  A client bought me a real fur coat as a birthday present, and I was horrified. He didn't know what to get so he thought I would love the white Mink! After that my wish list went up.

I have been a vegetarian or vegan for over 20 years now, and my ethics extend to the clothing I wear. I have received a few gifts of leather that I keep because I feel guilty telling someone who wanted to be nice, that I don't appreciate their gifts. I have an aunt that still doesn't understand, and I have given up trying to explain to her, so I graciously accept the purse or boots, or whatever the case may be. The same goes for clients. Fortunately, now there are some great designers that are making upscale faux leather shoes and bags, and those same designers also make an effort to be sure their products are being made in a fair trade sort of atmosphere as well.

...and I'll only wear real fur if it's vintage or second-hand.

It always seems that a poor animal is bludgeoned to death in the name of fashion. Conversely, factory workers are being worked to death in the name of animal rights. How ironic is that?

But alas, have we forgotten that the existence of our early ice age ancestors heavily depended upon the flesh and fur of animals?

Sometimes I wonder if arguments like these are only presented to sway the consumer's conscious . . . and money.
