Come to Oak Brook!

It's been over a year since I've been to Chicago and I MUST return before winter hits (brrr.)
While I usually stay near ORD to hostess my incalls, I'm wondering if the Oakbrook area may be a better choice?  Last year, I noticed more new restaurants and businesses on Butterfield Road and I always enjoy exploring new places to eat and enjoy myself whether accompanied by a gent or by myself.

Additionally, I have to get my runs in (marathon lady here) so if anyone has any input for which area is more runner-friendly, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks in advance!

I love the city and love to go downtown.  But Oak Brook is much easier -- at least for me. Although I won't run a marathon with you no matter where you stay LOL!

Lynette:

Oak Brook has a lot of great things to offer. Construction has really hampered transportation (though the O'Hare area is not as bad to get to as downtown is). There are a lot of great areas to run in as well.

Either or is fine..both easy to get to. Schaumburg is also an option and has Busse Woods with a bike/running path.

O'Hare is central to the city, Oakbrook, Schaumburg, and North Shore neighborhoods.
