There are a few local agencies as well, most of whom I haven't used so I cannot speak on that. For Chicago, TER is your friend. There is a Chicago board on the discussion boards section for both advertising, and for general conversations/etc.

The city and suburbs of Chicago are huge, thus it is usually best to split your time between downtown, and the suburbs.  Popular and safe areas include the Magnificent Mile (which is rather expensive), Schaumburg, Oak Brook, Naperville/Warrenville.

TER and eros are good places to advertise.  I check both because some visiting ladies don't post on both.
