You guys are a friendly bunch, I need help with switching phone carriers, I'm tired of Verizon bum raping me. Who's the best between AT&T or Sprint and which smart phone is user friendly? I don't want a smart phone that makes me look incredibly dumb lol sadly I'm gadget-tech challenged

I have an LG Optimus Slider which I love with Virgin Mobile pay-as-you-go plan. I get 1200 talk minutes and unlimited data and text for $45 a month ( unlimited EVERYTHING is $55 a month).
The phone isn't too big and has a slide-out keyboard. I prefer this because I'm a bit clumsy for touchscreen keyboards.
Virgin Mobile uses Sprint's equipment, so check on the reliability in your area.

go with the iPhone. Best part is you have a choice of which carrier will "bum-rape" you, AT&T or Verizon. Make no mistake that you'll be bum-raped no matter which smart phone you use. That's what made this country great, lol.

Yeah, all of the big wireless carriers will screw you in one way or the other.  LOL!  The iPhone is also available on Sprint.  Sprint is probably the lesser of the 3 evil players, since they're the only carrier that offers unlimited data plans on all of their smartphones  I have the HTC EVO 4G (Android), but I won't recommend it for a novice smartphone user.

I also have an iPhone 4 with AT&T that I use for business and compared to the EVO, the iPhone is definitely more user friendly.  The only reason why I stayed with AT&T is that they grandfathered me into their unlimited data plan when I upgraded my phone.  If they didn't, I would have transfered my account over to Sprint.

Are you mainly in one area? If so, where? Or, do you travel? If so, where or nationwide?

How many Minutes, Texts, Data do you use each month?

It really depends on your needs... but if you are looking to save money and stay on a major carrier, it has to be Sprint or T-Mobile.  AT&T won't be much cheaper than Verizon, so you shouldn't bother with them.

Those two phones you chose are really good options.  If you already have an ipod and itunes, the iphone may be a bit more intriguing.  I suggest you go to a sprint store and mess around with the two and see what you prefer.
