The two things you have to do are to cancel the date, and get the problem fixed.

I would explain why I am canceling and set up for another day. I have to be 100% when seeing a lady as I expect the same from her.

Brushing always opens up tiny cuts in the gums, even if you don't see any evidence (blood). Sexual health professionals always recommend waiting at least half an hour between brushing your teeth and engaging in any sexual activity to give these cuts time to heal over. If you're seeing actual blood when you brush, I would say put a minimum of an hour between your date with your toothbrush and your date with your lady.

You know that BBFS that everyone freaks out about and calls a hazard? Health pros put a freshly brushed mouth into that same very high risk category, and more so for the person who's recently brushed than their date.

If you are dying to have that minty clean mouth just prior to meeting a lady, use listerine-it kills germs, which are likely what's causing the bleeding gums to begin with.

I have many clients who simply see me to worship my feet, cuddle and caress each other. I cannot imagine their canceling a date if their sexual needs do not include kissing or DATY.

While I love kissing and DATY, I can wait to do so with the next client who has his gums intact.

Now if kissing and DATY is an important factor of the date, then I would respect the gentleman's need to cancel. Simple.

While the "essential oils" in Listerine may have a very minimal impact on oral bacteria, the effectiveness is quite minimal.

Studies show very slight effectiveness in those with gingivitis. But 4 out of 5 adults have more severe issues with periodontitis. Rinses have no effect.

The best over the counter anti-bacterial rinse is Closys II available at Walgreens and maybe CVS pharmacies. The Chlorine Dioxide is a much more effective antibacterial agent than the "essential oils" found in Listerine.

If you use something that may actually benefit, try the Closys II.

Thanks Eve. The reason I did this survey is I just read a post said that about 50% of our population has gum bleed issues. I assume that rate to be at least 20% among providers and hobbyists. That said, there is no way to not meet a person without gum bleeding issues as long as you stay in this hobby. I personally think that B is the most practical way. Even if you see a dentist, for a while, that gum bleed issue will come back due to so many reasons.

I might try Closys II and see how it works. I have been using Listerine for a long time and was under the impression that it is good product.

So, judging by the comments here it's almost assumed that the provider has some form of STD that is not safe to the hobbiest???  What kind of risk and what kind of STD are we talking about here?

Soft brushes are the best for tooth health and if you are not brushing regularly, then the last minute or infrequent brushing is the culprit. If you are a DATY freak and want to dive in fresh, its best to use a good oral rinse as a routine and don't forget to brush your tongue. Most people don't brush or floss enough to make a difference, but I guess some is better than none. IF you have just had oral surgery or significant problems with your teeth, it's probably best to cancel the date and build a regime that gives safe sex a chance. Oral passage of disease is not uncommon but is not as easy to be transmitted as in the case of mono or some other highly infectious oral disEASE.

B, then I'd start flossing daily, at least. Preferably after each mail. And then, at Osco's, I'd pick up some STIM-U-DENTS and use them.

Regular check up and cleaning is a must. I actually make sure to have regular cleaning every 3 months just make sure everything is under control. But every 6 months is ok as well.
