Guilty of lying to the Feds!

Blago was convicted of only one count; it carries a five-year sentence, tops. The jury hung on the other 23 counts, and the government has said they will retry him on those. My guess? Blago and the government will plea bargain. He will accept the guilty on one count verdict and agree to serve his five years (unless he can chisel them down a year or two but that's unlikely). I think Blago got very lucky with this jury; there were probably two or maybe only one juror who held out for him but then agreed to the one guilty count. Next time, Blago could get hammered and draw decades in prison. That's why it's in his interest to try for the plea bargain. As for the government, they did get one guilty verdict and could lose again, though I doubt they would. Thus, it works for them to take the certainty of five years in prison against the possibility of another wacko Chicago jury. At least, they get something to take back to the office. Just MHO!

I'll be surprised if the gov't can get another jury to hear another case, especially if it is within the next 6 months. Blago should be released because the case was a bad one and since he didn't get to "sell" the seat, why waste money (millions) when he'll do a year or so tops if at all.

he's a politician. He suppose to lie. That's how they make their living. For gods sake the last 7 out of 8 governers of Ill. have been found guilty of serious crimes.  Old Rod Blagojevich is really letting down the side there. You would think you guys would try a different political party. Communism, Facism, maybe a King with absoulte power God forbid a Republican, nah.

Well, have no fear. In Washington D.C. they still know how to lie, steal and cheat and white wash it to point where most voters won't gag. After all he was really just a politician in training being a governer. Some of them have to fail otherwise we wouldn't get the high quality theiving, lying son of a bitches we seem to stock the D.C. cesspol so successfuly.

There is no F-ing way he should be out of prison in less time than George Ryan serves. He has committed more crimes than any Illinois governor in my lifetime. That spans 6 decades.

I have a feeling if he was a republican they would have gang-raped him and given him the firing squad by bukkake.

I am with you on that or we'd all be in jail for our thoughts no less. Is he any more despicable than Ryan? I'd say no, because Ryan didn't get the time he should have and it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he stole, used state money as his own piggy bank, and countless other crimes. Blago was a bad governor, probably the worst because he really never wanted the job and court documents show he spent more time at home than doing state business. I was waiting for a provider scandal to show up. Perhaps, there is evidence that he consorted and used providers while on state business. Is that the new angle?

Richard he has committed more crimes than any IL governor you say. Are you sure? I am not except for what I read and hear in the media. So he is innocent until proven guilty. Thank god there is rule of law in the US and it protects you me and blago.
