Prior to meeting,  is it ok to ask how often you get tested?

What questions are common but violate a code?

No, it's not okay. It's also not okay to ask how many clients we've had that day/in general.

If anything, it shows that you are conscientious, risk adverse and play safe.  And if the provider feels offended by it she can just decline to answer.  But remember it goes both ways and she can ask you the same question.  Would you then be offended?

If you are concerned about contracting a STD, the more pertinent questions would be what were the results of your last test, what date were you tested, and what sexual activity have you engaged in since, and with whom? How long do you think it would take to have a pointed toe 10 inches up your scrotum if you asked that? And like Joe said, even if a provider didn't immediately emasculate you, are you going to share the same information with her? Plus, thinking you have the need to make this type of inquiry certainly implies that you don't really trust the provider. If that's the case, how could you possibly rely on anything that she told you. I think JB succinctly answered your inquiry, and probably voices what the overwhelming majority of other providers have to say about this. It's a risky game we play, and we continue to do so, because the rewards are too enticing. if you want certainty, blow yourself up in front of a federal building and you'll be rewarded with 99 virgins in paradise that you won't have to worry about.

It's just a tacky thing to ask someone. And if someone were to ask me that prior to meeting, I'd no longer be interested in seeing them. I do not tolerate ANY questions or comments that imply that sexual activity is going to take place before meeting someone. It's not really about a "code" (although asking things like that are immediately going to send up red flags that you could be LE), it's about respect and courtesy. Just don't do it. If you're worried that the lady in question isn't taking the proper precautions to ensure her own health and safety, then you're seeing the wrong ladies. Most of us are extremely vigilant about our health.

That said, there are definitely worse questions that you can ask, but it's still tacky and rude.

I hear every point you're making... Just starting the discussion more than anything. I'm not asking that question but I'm sure some people do.

I mean, you should always have safe sex and you wouldn't ask a girl that question if you met at a bar.

It wouldn't be so weird of a question to me if we were having a conversation on safety/sex/stds/etc but to randomly bring it up? That is awkward.

Anyone can promise you anything. You're just beating a dead horse.

I actually don't like being asked that question, because the true answer has been, "Yes. Every other month. But I've had sex with 30 people since then. Wanna' book?" LOL :D

I wonder if it is just a known - don't go there - at a certain rate structure, as well as where you advertise and who you network with. Could be wrong.

I just follow the Rain Man's advice and ask the provider if she takes any prescription medications. Look how well it worked with him and Iris.

If you feel you need to ask those questions maybe you're seeing the wrong kind of lady?. But if you did ask, and the lady told you when she was tested, are you then going to ask for the proof when you finally meet her? You should probably do everything covered or just get hand jobs.

... This conversation went a different direction than intended. I wouldn't ask the question...Just wanted to hear the dumb stuff being asked.

I was trying to be funny and quote a scene from the movie "Rain Man" where an autistic Dustin Hoffman is propositioned at a bar in Cesar's Palace by a prostitute, and he asks her if she takes any prescription medications. Great scene that apparently doesn't translate well onto a discussion board.

Do you expect a reply "I never get checked, who cares" or "I should cuz most guys complain of stinging in their stuff after they see me

Kind of like asking a Cub fan if they are still taking their psychotropic medications. Some questions are better left unasked.

i had my profile stolen by so many directories I don't even know where I am advertised. should i be penalised for having my profile stolen and placed on a shity site out my awareness? I personally think an escort should not be judged by where she advertises . It could be just aggressive marketing but a webmaster or an inexperienced girl.

Any client who would be inclined to ask such a question should think about visiting the brothels in Nevada.  Gals are regulated and tested weekly.

Otherwise do not even think of asking the question.  Rude IMO.

I think asking about someones safety practices concerning their sexual health is an acceptable question when you plan to engage in sexual activity with them. I put on my FAQ page what my practice is in regards to testing.

The only questions that I will not answer are those that have to do with specific services. Other than that, I am pretty laid back with answering questions.
