I've never been to a meet and greet...what goes on there? I hear it's close to where i'm staying so i'm thinking of going.

As the name implies, folks gather to meet each other. It's like a reception or coctail party. Most are BYOB. The differences are that everyone is there by invitation and everyone is screened (or should be).
