Forgive me if this is an inappropriate subject for this forum however I couldn't sit on these questions any longer.

I've had a couple of unfortunate experiences attempting to work with two particular agencies. I spoke with the people in charge, both female, but after seeing my pic's the conversations went from light and friendly to flat, mechanical and short. Both times I was cut off in mid sentence and informed that as black women we're seen as "the least desirable". So since, in their opinion, we're a poor investment, I was promptly dismissed. First time I was pissed to the higest level of pisstivity. The second time, though still livid, it became a distressing issue that left me thinking. Are they racist ,misinformed dummies, or are they justified in their rejection? Both agencies offered a rainbow of providers except, you know who. (-_-) Are we seen as equals to other providers or just fetish?

Btw, I later received in depth info on the benefits and drawbacks of agencies and decided it wasn't for me.
Thank you for any responses.

I kinda tire of the political media establishment when they speak of having a "conversation" on individual privacy rights with the recent Snowden/NSA debacle, or the "conversation" on race after the election of Obama.  Bottom line, people have biases, filters, and prejudices.  We all do.  Now I believe "racism" is one's ability to institutionalize their biases, filters, and prejudices to the detriment of another ethnic group. I often lament asking if a given provider sees a given ethnic group.  But it is necessary.  But to get back to your point, I believe it's what the market wants.  If the majority of hobbyists served by those agencies don't seek African American women, they are gonna give them what want. Supply and demand.  I wouldn't take it personally. But make no mistake, there is bigotry here just like society as a whole. Focus on those that are not.

You look pretty fine to me but I can't speak for an agency.

Forget about agencies for now and just roll as an indy. You've got 20+ reviews, arguably dated, but they reflect average scores of 8+, so you must be doing something right. Your photos show you to be to be a cute and sexy lady who looks like fun, so another positive.  Maybe if you're really wanting to go the agency route, continue to build your client base and try agencies again and sell yourself with statistics. If you are an earner, I can't see why some agency out there wouldn't want to build a "symbiotic" relationship with you, especially if you can carve out a niche for yourself!

The flip side lady is the large number of providers that won't see black clients.  Even the lowly BP pages is filled with ads that state, No AA clients.  While it is absolutely every ones right to see who they prefer, come on now.  I'm 60, successful, with a pocket full of cash and you right me off because of the color my skin.

But I've learned to move on, so should you..............
