I think I know the answer! There are many more Agency girls in the Carolinas than there are indies, and, as a result, their agencies do the advertising. I go up to Raleigh about twice a month (6hrs round trip) and all of the ladies I see up there are agency ladies. I've asked some of the providers up there if they've seen the reviews that I've submitted for them and they say NO!!
To the contrary, when I go to ATL(6hr each way) I see indies. Maybe the ladies in ATL are more enterprising than those in RDU!
Anyhow, this is just an impression that I'm sending to you NC girls. Certainly, some of the best providers are in Ral/Greensboro area. There's one in the area who is a doll, probably my ATF and there are others who are just as good as any of the providers in ATL, some much better.
Come on girls BREAK LOOSE, kick back , and start talking to us on this board. I think you'll find that your clientele will increase.

Without trying to offend anyone at TER, I think that the other hobbyist/provider board is more active in NC and that's where the providers are active, but not always to anyones benefit, since they tend to get a little excitable, if u know what I mean.

my limited participation is partly due to the moderation of my posts. I've had the emblem on my site for awhile. At one time, the message would show up instantly. Later, they would not, even with the emblem still on my site. There were times that I had to submit it a second time. I was surprised when my post below showed up the same day I submitted it.

2) The limited response I receive from my postings (publicly & privately) does not motivate me to participate in discussions.

3) When the discussions are ISO info about other local providers, "the fresh meat" and the touring out of state providers, there is nothing there for the ladies to discuss.

I’m going to assume that we’re talking about The same other BoarD. The other BoarD, although more active in some cities in the East is filled predominantly with schedule/ad posts. Both TER and The other BoarD share the rule that schedule/ad posts are allowed only once per week. The point that I’m trying to make for the Indies/Agencies is that, by getting involved in the boards, you can get your link out there much more often. The more people see your link, the more likely they are to visit your website. The more they visit your website,…you get it now?

This may explain it Oxygen. In the Boston area, some agencies don't  expose their ladies to the boards. I suppose the agencies don't want the ladies to consider independence. However, even if the majority of local escorts are affliated with agencies, the agencies aren't posting as effectively as they could if they only post an ad once a week.

I think I UNmoderated you when I was here before. I tend to UNmoderate people pretty quickly and, as long as you follow the schedule/ad posting rules, you stay UNmoderated.

You make good points with #2 and #3. If there's nothing to discuss, you have no reason to reply. As you can see by the last week, I'm going to change that!

one agency did a bait and switch on me.  Maybe that's the one main reason why they don't post ... they're gonna get flamed.

One agency (claims to be based in Greensboro, Burlington, Salem) set me up with a provider. They said she's ok at 6 pm. I said ok. I told agency I will call at 5 pm to confirm for sure if she's pushing through (since it's my first time with this agency and provider).  I called at 5pm.  They said she was definitely on her way but no room number yet, and I have to call when I arrive at incall location.  When I arrived there at 6pm, I called and they said she could not come and there was another provider there. Honestly, I would inform this broad so TERM members will be careful. After all, that's what boards are about ... feedback.

We each probably have our own reasons for not participating very actively on this board.  I was very active here when I first started working two years ago.  I found that the level of discussion was--and is--generally thoughtful, thought-provoking, and respectful.  I enjoyed being a member of this community.

Since I began working, I've taken two very long "breaks" for myriad personal reasons.  There are several reasons I haven't been active here anytime in recent memory:

First:  Last fall I completely dropped out of sight for four or five months and when I decided to return I discovered that my website was completely frozen and I could not edit it (yippee for yahoo).  I _still_ can't edit it or even receive emails from the link on my site.  When I first put my site together, I put a little "TER" link on my "Friends" page, but have not been able to put the logo on my index page.  I'm trying to rectify this problem, but OMG, what a pain!  Anyway, no logo, no participation...

Second:  This is really stupid, but here it is... I checked to see who was posting and discovered that very few of my "old buddies" were still around.  I guess I felt like a little kid who moves to a new school and doesn't have a clue as to what's going on and so chooses to play on the monkey bars all by herself.

Third:  As you've mentioned, there are very few Carolina women posting here.

Fourth:  Since I'd been gone so long, I didn't feel like I was current on most of the issues and so had very little to contribute.

At any rate, most of my reasons for "lurking" are emotional and illogical (though the two don't always go hand-in-hand), but since you asked...

Are you saying that these agencies don't post at all or that they just post their schedule/ad? Because, if they post an ad, there's still a possibility that they will get flamed.

The agency that did a bait and switch on me never post, but they have a website where you can view the entertainers and they even have video clips. I'm sure people are decent enough not to flame them for no reason.  The other board flamed a provider (advertising on the Eros guide) just today for having a big black guy barge in the room and point a gun at a hobbyist after hobbyist put money on the table. The guy took the money while escort was smiling. I believe hobbyist was telling the truth.

I could be wrong here, but it seems like in cases of established ladies there's alot more downside to posting then there is upside for them.

This is a business first and foremost..... their business. (yeah, yeah, i know the truely outstanding ones are often here as much for other reasons as they are for the money but that's for another thread)

Sure, everyone posts in the beginning. They need to get the exposure. They need to get the attention. They need to get their "product" out in the market place the same as any other type of business would. And in slow times you need to revert back to what works best to bring people in the door... positive advertising. So you go back and post alittle and make sure everyone knows you're out there.

But if you're established and/or low volume or a part time lady what are the positives that are there for you in posting just to post? Alot of the topics around here can get somewhat heated. If a lady starts tossing her 2 cents in she chances alienating potential clients. If she is good in person but has a hard time communicating her thoughts thru written word she may also alienate potential clients. I'm sure there are ladies out there that are a joy to be with but i never saw mostly because of the way they appear on the board. In that case we both have lost out.

It can be a fine line to try and walk. Sure, there are those that do it. Sedona, NetM, Nicole(NOSC) come to mind and i know there are alot of others also.

If they are comfortable with the level of clients they have and the regularity with with they see them there just isn't alot of incentive to post and expose yourself.

I also believe it depends on the venue. Some of the smaller regional boards(Scorpsand Tailfins in the midwest and TheReviewBoard in Washington state are for example) are much smaller and closer knit communities where the players often seem to be able to mix professional and personal aspects without much trouble. That's harder to do on a national board which may garner more attention from what could be seen as "outsiders". But it's also alot harder to gain acceptance into these smaller communities sometimes bacause of the protect your own atmosphere.

This is a very interesting topic....which I dont seem to understand either....this last winter I went to Pittsburgh for work and I met a very nice provider in the area......she steered me in the direction of ASPD.net......there is a section for NC there which gets little attention as well from the providers....this site also has full reviews that anyone can see......I have cruised around a lot on this site and there are very close communities of providers and clients that talk openly in the forums......just check out the Dallas and Pittsburgh sections(for example).....they even go as far as having "Get Togethers" and parties for networking purposes and most of these girls are indies......I have heard of IB in G'boro throwing private parties for there clients.......just something for pondering.....jp.

Good question SB but I would speculate that the established/ low volume lady isn't spending much if any time on the boards. We're talking about ladies/agencies who want more appointments...the very reason why most providers frequent sites such as TER.

is that I have seen providers chastised on other boards because they post too much. I even saw an email for a TBD moderator to a provider telling her that she should not overexpose herself by posting too much. (I read her post. She was positively contributing to the threads.) The mod went on to tell her that she should post a generic subject line to her ad post like "My schedule for the week." (That's the first thing I tell providers NOT TO DO!!!

I've never taken a Marketing course but I figured out awhile ago that basic Hobby Marketing involves driving people to your website. Providers don't be afraid to post and include your link every time that you do post.

I have had ladies tell me they do not post here because of the requirement of graphic or detailed reviews. They may have SO's that get upset reading the reviews or they may just not like to see their activities in such detail.

I know one lady that had a review posted where CIM and Greek were on the menu. She vehemently denied such activity and went so far as to place a link on her website that linked an article of why TER reveiws were not to be beleived.

So happens I know the lady (had many sessions with her) and know that what was in the review was the truth. I could have written the same review but she always asked me for no reveiws and I complied with her request.  I have often heard ladies trash this site because of fake reviews. Funny thing is, I travel the US, and find this site's reveiws to be right on the money.

it follows that they are probably not reading the boards either. Since most gents don't provide a back channel contact, what would be the point of reading the boards if you as a provider do not make your presence known to the board community?

The real isssue is...

for providers who want to use this board to generate traffic to their website...why don't they see the wisdom in greater involvement here?

You won't be introduced to other clients, but you will get extra time to socialize with all the ladies on hand after your meeting.  This includes some independent ladies that I have invited to share our space since they have been helpful with refs, info, or just a daym nice chic.
