I really hope TER allows this to get posted because I really need an answer to this.

I totally understand that providers are busy, so please don't answer my following appeal with that cop out, and if anyone is thinking of referring me to the national Newbie Board or FAQ when they read this, I already have gone there, I already have done my research, and I'm only experiencing this problem in the Charlotte area, so this is something for this region in particular to address. So here's my problem.

I normally have an agency I depend on for my hobbyist needs, but this weekend they don't have any providers in town. Knowing this day would come I had already done my research, looking into five local providers with good overall reviews and local availability, and since I haven't posted reviews I asked the agency that I normally go to if they would vouch for me. They happily agreed understanding that I had needs to be met on the weekends that their providers aren't in town. I sent three of them professional and kind emails, and called the other two using proper etiquette three days ago only to never hear from any of them. Like I said before, I understand that providers are busy, and I understand that this happens, but five times in a row?  People have told me not to follow up because I'd seem desperate and needy, so I haven't, but I'm the only common denominator here so I need to know what I'm doing wrong.

Did someone report something about me on this board or something? I can't imagine what it could be because I'm very polite and courteous (perhaps to a fault).
Is my agency sabotaging me when a provider calls them up to ask about me?
Do the providers hate the sound of my voice when I call?
Do they have age limits? I checked all of them and only one said that she preferred men over thirty, but didn't flat out reject men under thirty.

...What is it? Please Help!

I have had the same problems recently and over the past few years, I try contacting a provider every now and then and nothing.. I have very good references independents and agencies , they are from out of state , so I think the women are lazy and dont want to do background checks , there is  Not alot of southern hospitality happening here in Nc,  I am sorry NC  .   I dont waste my time anymore , My suggestion fly a guest for the day/weekend , alot better quality and you wont be left stranded, I am use to major cities like  Miami ,NYC, DC, Detroit etc. The providers atleast reply to email or return the call, very professional...

It's good to know that I'm not the only one that has issues with responses, but I'm not here to put down Charlotte or North Carolina, nyc. I need to know from providers, who find reason to ignore calls and emails, what it takes to just get a response, even if it's 'no'. At least then, I won't waste my time waiting.

It could be the tone of your email.  I am no where near an expert as I am still learning as well but I have had ladies respond to my emails.  Whether they were a sorry I'm not available to here's what needs to be done.  Allowing more time does help as well.

Good luck to you but please don't disrespect the Carolina ladies.

Julie, thank you for responding with a provider's point of view. Maybe you can help me out as I respond to your notes. Rest assured I have no interest in simply giving up on NC providers. There are plenty of quality providers here, and please don't take my comment about this only being an issue for the region as a jab at Charlotte. I love Charlotte, and my intentions are to figure out what's supposed to work here. I just didn't want the run of the mill response of 'refer to the newbie guide'. It's just that I'd like to figure out what I'm getting wrong.

1) If that's the case then I would have appreciated it if said provider just said no men under 30 flat out. I wouldn't have taken it personally. I guess I should have gotten the hint. I'll remember that next time

2) I had no idea providers wouldn't accept agency references. Why? If I had known that I would have posted reviews, but since it's been a month since the last time I saw a provider, I can't post one... and now I can't even make an appointment.

3) No I can't blame them for being more cautious as the DNC approaches. I have to be cautious as well, which means no BP BS (which I've never dealt with) and no sketchy ads, but how am I supposed to get an appointment with a quality provider who uses discretion?

4) I started messaging providers on Thursday in order to set something up for this weekend. No responses. The last time I tried this I requested an exact time and date several days ahead of time, and got no response, so this time I just gave a window (ie I'm available between this date and this date), but still got no response. Which way is the right way?

I would love to have a good reference from a well established lady, but in order to get that reference I would need... a reference from a well established lady. It's a viscous cycle, and I can't seem to break it.

1.Age I am 35,in shape and nice looking  so that shouldnt be a problem.
2.In my experience with the agencies I have used and the ones I use now , they are over the top professional and have alot of very high profile customers and do a better job screening , so i think the independents should work with agencies with verifying clients they could help each other out. M
3.Replying with a nice professional email shouldnt get any abusive responses. Why stereotype the nice guys
4.  25% its short notice , but 75% of the time its a few days before.
5.Hottest ladies there is some nice ladies here I admit i see them around town.
Hot we may have different opinions of hot, I pay for quality and the price isnt a issue  , I am looking for a high class woman ,Nice face, in shape with a nice body, tan, nice stylish hair, nice clothes..no tattoos on the breast , neck , and so on.  1 in a tasteful area is enough. Please ladies stop airbrushing them in the ads.
Ladies Also dont airbrush your stretch marks from babies.. Just dont mislead the customer, I have left the donation and left after what i saw, looks nice in clothes but not out, nice person but was a turn off.. But I am tpicky I believe in quality not quantity.

Tone of an email? Seriously?
No offense, but it's just a text.
Why do many people put sympathy on a text?
99/100 cases are their imaginary feeling.

And who also has hobbied in the major cities you mentioned. The Carolina girls are the warmest, nicest, most giving ladies around. Because they are that way, they, in turn, prefer the company of gentlemen who are recommended by people they trust. It IS different here, not as "business-like"as it is in big cities where guys just fly in and out with both the provider and hobbyist know they most likely never will meet again. When Carolina girls feel comfortable with you, it is the most amazing experience.

Postings like yours won't help your cause, to be honest.

I am sorry you take what i say the wrong way, I totally disagree with airbrush tattoos and stretchmarks.
I am just telling the truth becuase the ladies dont like the stretch marks thats why they airbrush them, So why would they think the men would like them.
I bet You would be disappointed if you went to buy a car from a dealer from a ad you saw,  you rearranged your schedule and drove there and when you got there the car was previously in a hail storm.  Just post your natural pics with faces blurred but not the tattoos and stretch marks , some people like them and some dont.
I am sorry there is no reputable agencies the ladies can work with to screen here in NC. I know in the major cities they actually work with the local City employees.. So the ladies feel safe as long it is not the BP BS.
If you are paying for something, you want what you see in the in the ad. Im just telling the truth.

I can understand how basing a person's attitude on the "tone" of an e-mail may sound a bit ridiculous, but unfortunately it is true.  E-mail contact is usually the first impression a lady will have about you, and we base a big part of our decisions on instinct/intuition/"gut" feelings.  A gentleman can come across as cocky, forceful, rude, disrespectful, and vulgar in his e-mail, which will result in a simple "delete" (i.e., no response) from most ladies.

I don't think this is the case with the OP, though...he "sounds" very polite and respectful.  ;)
Julia, I think you said something important here.

Having worked with the clients in technology field sometimes I would pass on great contracts or even gave refunds in rare cases if resulting relationship would turn into endless support calls.

Now, I trust more my gut feeling.

I can't speak for others, I can only speak for myself..
Very often on Friday afternoon, I leave Jessica at the door and join my family and friends in the day to day routines of weekend life..
Jessica, will then return on Monday morning or Sunday afternoon depending on the weekend, checking email and scheduling play dates..

I have missed many, many opportunites because of this.. I just don't play on the weekends.

It's not personal and I do believe you should always follow up at least once!!!!!!!!
Your problem may be just that simple..

Some ladies play on the weekends and at 2 am. Some will jump when you call and others don't.
Maybe it is your timing or the ladies you are picking..

Good Luck

IQC, I understand why you feeling a little frustrated when visiting the Charlotte area.  I moved here last year and it took a little time to really get started in the local scene.  And the 1st thing I realized is that the ladies in NC (especially Charlotte) are very cautious when it comes to seeing new clients.  I don't claim to know the exact reasons why this is...and applaud them for being cautious.  I had plenty of references, but none in this area so my start in this area was slow to really get moving.

I moved from a major midwest city and most indy ladies didn't accept references from agencies either.  In fact, some or most of them would even state that on their website.  There is nothing wrong with seeing agency ladies...nothing wrong with a little variety.  Just don't expect an indy to accept an agency reference.

So if you plan to see ladies in the Charlotte area...please plan ahead.  Maybe even contact a lady or two a couple weeks ahead for pre-screening.  This should allow her ample time for her to review your reference info and determine if a meeting is possible.  As for reviews...I only have 1 on this site...I let my references do the talking.  Besides if I don't know the guy doing the review I don't know how much of the review is fact or fantasy.

So I would recommend you be patient and do your research.  I'm sure you will start hooking up with some great ladies in this area.

One thing you might want to remember, and you may already know this.  Ladies get a lot of emails.  Good, bad and somwhere in between.  Some ladies have filters that clean stuff up, not all but some.  But the message title should be simple and straight forward.  Something like Appointment or Schedule a date will get better attention.  Keep the email positive but straight and to the point.  I know some have said they have never gotten an email that I know I sent.

Like Jessica said there are reasons why a lady may not work the weekends.  I know I dont like to work them.  But writting and saying no may be a little difficult.  There are a lot of jacksasses out there.  and you cant tell one from another without a program. So why invite trouble.

Sorry you had a hard time.

You actually have 90 days from seeing the lady to submit a review, although personally, IMHO, if you wait more than 60 days you may not remember everything you experienced as clearly.

Personally I take agency refs on a case by case basis. I do prefer my gentlemen friends to be 35+ in age, although I have some reviews that were written by gentlmen who were early 30's. I have one written by a gentleman who was under 30 when I met him. The deciding factor for me there was he  preferred more mature ladies and had seen ladies I was very familiar with.

Hopefully things will get better for you.

xoxo,

Steph

As a native Charlotte/Carolina girl and a corporate business professional (in my other life), this issue does dishearten me.  I am sorry that you have taken time to contact several ladies and have never received a response.  Common courtesy and good customer service go a long way.  But as several people have stated here, there could be several reasons why you have not received a response.  I for one, have had gentlemen men email me (a 2nd time) or call me and indicate that they have previously contacted me and did not receive a reply/response.  I attribute it to email filters.  I wholeheartedly endorse the suggestions made by several of the earlier responses to your dilemma.  Don't give up on our lovely Carolina Girls.

Exceeding Your Expectations,

Sweet CoCo Kisses:-)
