The why is the FOSTA bill that passed yesterday in both houses BUT hasn't even been signed yet. That's my guess.

why never even heard of that bill until I just looked it up! so sad...... will do nothing for trafficking and hinder those who are actually trying to make a legal living.

This is heartbreaking to see such a class act of a website to be shut down. I wish everyone nothing but the best as you face these trying times. It has a sinking feeling to it like the Titanic did when it hit the iceberg. You know you're on borrowed time, so you make the most of it while you can.  

Yes, this is related to FOSTA. CL just shut down their US personals as well. One other site I use has disabled their US search page, and another is just a 'goodbye' page now. And I suspect more sites will be shutting down or changing once this gets finalized.

I logged in with my membership says to email them for access.  

I sent a message through the feedback portion of TER asking them about the US ad board shut down, and this is what they said;

The US has a very special LE agreement with Canada. 411 will go dark if this law passes so it wont matter one bit.

I have an open credit account with them and my credit line is still there and available. I usually work with their money for 2 months and then pay. I have read in a number of places that BackPage will make over 250 million dollars in 2019. No way will BP walk away from that without a good fight. I'm sure it will go before the supreme court before they walk away.

The way I understand it is that the changes BP made and people they have screening/deleting photos with certain text allows them to say they merely let people introduce themselves in their dating section, and that they have no other involvement.  With as clean as they keep them, it does keep them under the radar for now.

I can post 12 pics but use 5 for ad copy .... I keep my ad vanilla and post my twitter link. My website address is on all my pics with absolutely no nudity. Gentlemen know what that site is about and have used it for years to meet new companions or find an old friend. I believe it will stand strong and fight. We learn with age to go with the flow and make do with what you have.

What do we do? Hire a legal team to get our constitutional rights back? Sit back and wait?, Get a meeting set up for an educational mixer? I have this board as my bread and butter and now I am lost I have p411 left and that will be gone too I am sure.

Only can see the Ad boards for outside the US

Where can I find the offer for the free membership? I don't see that on their registration page.
