Ladies, I have been out of the hobby for almost a year, and it is time or I finally have the time to once again enjoy the hobby again. My question is what is too long for references and/ or does the length of time from last review matter? The reason for being away was a combination of work and selling and buying a house and trying to carve out some free time. I am anxious to see and spend time with some amazing ladies.
Hopefully your schedule will now allow you to indulge in this little world here again soon. Are you on P411? If so that certainly will help since your last review was 2016. I'm thinking maybe reach out to a lady you've spent time with in the past to connect again for a date. Some ladies may want more info (IRL) to see you if you haven't met them before. Only you know what you are comfortable with.
You've seen some very reputable ladies in the biz before, so I'm thinking getting your "feet" wet again shouldn't be too difficult. Whenever I've given a reference for someone that I haven't seen in a year or more, if I remember him, I'll let the lady know approximately how long it's been since I spent time with the gent. is reach out to someone you want to see and explain your situation. She may have some additional requirements but shouldn't be too difficult to find someone willing to see you. Having moved repeatedly over the past several years, I've had to "start" over several times on various boards. Establishing credibility has never been too much of an issue for me. Most ladies seem to understand life happens.
Thank you Steph for taking the time and sharing your thoughts, I have never been on P411, I started on date check and after some reviews I dropped the membership. Maybe to be safe I will create a P411 account.
We can select that option on P411. (Even if you aren't new, not having recent references can be the same as new to some...)
So if you are considering joining, I'm not sure how the client side looks, but I would assume you can include that in your search functions. Newbie screening takes on a different form for many. Personally, I screen everybody as though they are a newbie, but that P411 (and in Chicago, RS-avs.com) definitely makes it easier for me to feel safe as an additive to my own screening.

I think for many "newbie friendly" providers, no references or old references isn't a problem if you're willing to meet her screening requirements in some other ways. Different providers have different screening requirements, but I think the friction occurs with clients who are unwilling to provide screening information if the references are too stale.
I mean basically newbie screening process. Or just follow the standard screening. A year isnt that far away. Unless all of your ladies are now away from the hobby.
But the ladies here are amazing and will work with you as long as you follow their instructions. Good Luck and welcome back.
