It was helpful, thanks. I guess the answer is to only book when I travel, as I have almost no chance of my plans changing. More hours for the out of town ladies!

but this person has a flight booked to come here so the chances of cancellation are very slim.
Now, I have seen you a couple of times, and when I have met with you it has been during an event that you would not likely cancel, so I feel pretty comfortable when I hold time for you. However, if we had not met and you cancelled a meeting twice, even with notice, I would not likely hold time for you again.
I realize that many people consider meeting with a lady to be an extra curricular activity, maybe like meeting up for beers after work with the guys, and if something else comes up they don't think much of cancelling. But for some of the ladies, including myself, keeping a stable schedule is very important and we will stop setting aside time for friends who have a higher risk of cancellation. I've had to stop reserving time for people I really, really enjoy only because their schedules are unreliable and they have cancelled too many times. Sure, work and home take priority, but I have very limited availability so I need it to be utilized in the most efficient way possible, which is with friends who I can depend on.
I know you're a good person, but try to look at it from a lady's perspective. She may love her "job" more than anything in the world, but she needs to have reliable "work" and you are not giving the impression that you will be a good risk for her to take. She will not want to block her schedule, maybe pay for a room, spend time getting herself ready and setting the mood, and maybe arrange child care, only for you to possibly no show her. We have to weigh risk vs. reward much of the time with what we do.
Anyhow, be well, my friend, and I hope this was a little helpful!
