How far out do you book?

First, I am a real planner and mostly hobby when I travel.  I occasionally do play about 1 1/2 hours from me, as I can make that a day trip.  No hobby action in my area, it's big time Podunk.  My travel dates I tend to book as far as 2 months out, as I like to get what I want.  More local, about 7-10 days, when I know I can get away for a good part of the day.

Last week I booked a date at the beginning of the week for Friday, unaware that my secretary had scheduled a important meeting for that morning.  I had to cancel with plenty of notice.  I rescheduled for 9 days out, only to have to cancel again today, for a Thursday date, because of a possible security issue at home.  I always play safe, no chances.  Now, she won't respond to me at all, probably thinking I am a tire kicker.  Things happen, especially when I tend to book in advance.

My question is, how far is reasonable for you ladies?  The further out, the more chance of some problem coming up.  What's the answer here?  Head to the backpage 1 hour notice ladies? Please help, I don't want to make any Lady angry for having to do that

But I prefer no longer than a couple of days notice.  I like my schedule to be flexible and it's a real downer when someone schedules a date far out in advance and I work my schedule around it and then they cancel.  Not to mention I have a mother with health problems and siblings that need to be taken care of when ever the need arises.

I'm like you and like to plan ahead by several weeks when possible, but will settle for a few days.

I can remember being in Raleigh last year for a business trip and a long scheduled appointment when I received call that a family member had passed.  I called the well-reviewed lady to apologize and explain what had happened and that I had to return home.  I ended up getting cussed out by the lady.  Gotta admit a "little" understanding goes a long way in defining the real personality.

Another trip is scheduled soon, and connections started about 6-8 weeks early.  Appointment is set, and truly looking forward to it

So I guess it just depends on the individuals and how organized they are.

I have a friend who visits Columbia on business and plans his next quarterly visit during our current visit which is fine because I can plan to be in town on those dates the following Qtr. Although he has had to cancel once, he gave as much notice as his company provided to him so I could open those dates. These are some of the risks we take I guess.

I prefer a week or two out so that I have a good grip on my next weeks plans because I have obligations to my mother and bands. But I am sometimes available on same day notice. It just depends on what is going on.

When I know that I am going to be out of town for travel or the bands activities then I advertise as far in advance as I know so again, I have plenty of time to work around all schedules. I am headed to Florida in August and then on a cruise so I have advertised for those cities & ports since I booked the trip. It's nice to build friendships/relationships with both hobbyists as well as providers over the next few months and then meet in person.
I find it exhilarating anyway!

I'll make an appointment with a provider far in advance if I want to see a lady that I really like. I have "booked" as far out as 3 months.

You would have to wonder about good screening if you're able to book within a few hours unless you had P411 or Date check. Safety first. Just my 2 cents.

except for a regular that I see every two weeks.  I like to be able to be able to schedule my time at work (since I do my hobbying on long lunch breaks) and two weeks out is usually pretty open, so I can put "Go f*ck Clara" from 10:00 to 12:00 on that day in my Outlook calendar.  Then I can defend that time so people don't schedule me into stuff where I might have to cancel with Clara.  Two weeks also gives me plenty of anticipation time.

Jeez, I hope nobody else can read my calendar at work...

Just kidding

Wish it was that easy for me, but I have a 3 hour round trip  to play.  I also have a job that being "out of the office" for 6 hours is not normal, raises red flags.

No question, I screwed up here, and I did apologize the best I can, but I had to investigate whether I had a security issue at home.  Some things were said that raised a flag, and I had to protect not just her, but everyone I see, and have seen.  No one should get hurt for what I do except me.

I have about 45 minutes each way to playland (Greensboro).  That's far enough that I'm not likely to run into someone I know or have my car recognized, but close enough that I can minimize vacation hours used.  For a two hour play session, that gets me office to office in less than half a day using my lunch hour.
