I wish the ladies of .. mycandiceofnc .. would see african-american men. They are beautiful women and I'd love to spend time and money there.

racism sucks

the world is full of racism and will always be, move on and don't give them your money, if they don't like you.since they don't like men of color if they did see you it would be a half hearted session.

Dont take offense honey it is probably not be based on race. You know what the saying is about African American men being huge. Mabey she feels she wont be comfortable or it may even cause her pain. There could be many reasons. Dont take it personally baby!

No offence dear but I would like to know how in the world my comment is racist. I am only trying to give a reasonable explination on why the beautiful ladies may not want to see a man of color. Isnt that what these boards are for? And furthermore my agency may have a couple of salty reviews but for the best part our ladies are great. Mabey you should give one of them a try cause you need to loosen up honey!

Ok let me say this much to clear things up. It wasnt met to be a racist remark at all. Mabey what I left out that should have been included was this is a STEREOTYPE not an actual fact and for anyone who thought this stereotype is true is insane. This comment was in no way met to be racist or to offend anyone just tried to give a reasonable explination on why she may have not wanted to see this guy. STEREOTYPE that is all it is. I am confused? I didnt know because I said a guy of color may be stereotyped as having a big dick was being racist. I am not the provider who refused to see one. Now I see I have to be sensitive about what I say so that people dont take things the wrong way. I appoligize if I have offended anyone with my comments. Nothing was met to be delivered in an offensive way.

What happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt? Why do so many ASSUME the worst in others when race is mentioned?

She suggested that the reason she wouldn't see him might be because she was afraid she might be hurt. That's a racist remark, and she's been told it's a racist remark. She's now backtracking and suggesting that it's someone else's stereotypical assumption, not hers. It simply doesn't comport with reality.

I am sure that anyone with ears and a sane mind can say that they have heard this stereotype. This is not a stereotype I have created but society. I am done with this discussion for some people just dont get it and it seems to me you are just trying to make it seem as though I am racist and anyone who knows me and my agency knows it is not so. As a man of color, I didn't take offense to the original remark. I got the point. Noworlater was simply pointing out that there are stereotypes out there, that's all. I know for a fact that there are providers who won't see black men because of that stereotype.  I'm not offended by that at all.  I just wish that some of the local providers didn't have  a race restriction because they are really hot. However, that's their preference, whether I like it or not. This ain't Burger King.

I really don't think this discussion needed to have gone this far.  I just so happen to be African-American, but I also understand what "noworlater" was trying to say.  All she did was try to offer an explanation, using a well-known stereotype of black men.  On the scale of stereotypes for black folks, that has to be one of the lesser offensive ones (if you even choose to describe it as offensive), and most of the black men I know will tell you the same.  To include the stereotype of a large dick along with something as bad as selling drugs is a bit misleading, "trojanlarge," but that's just my opinion.  Although I will also say that if the providers in question really don't wish to cater to particular clients because of their assumed "size," I wonder why they don't just state that specifically instead of making it sound like a racial issue.

Maybe some of these providers don't provide services to black men for the very reason that "noworlater" pointed out, maybe not; who knows?  I've always wondered about that myself.  What is clear to me, however, is that those particular providers have made their own generalizations of a specific race based on beliefs (or maybe experiences) they've had.  I have no idea what the different reasons are, but at least I know those aren't providers I'd be contacting any time soon.  Why bother trying to see someone who isn't comfortable with seeing you?

So how about we kiss and make up here... I see both points of view, but I don't believe "noworlater" meant to make a racist remark; and she has already apologized, in all fairness.  Let's move on.

i was never offended, i was just pointing out that even though she does not realize it it is a racial sterotype, and any racial sterotype should not be used.

Thanks for clearing that up. I am glad to hear from a man of color that my comments were'nt offensive. I was starting to think that mabey I missed something!

The university I work for has received a grant to determine why certain cultural issues exist...Also what ladies perceive as alluring or disgusting about seeing men of a different cultural background. The study also goes down the lines of imagined cultural differences in Penis size, etc..
