I'm more of a scotch drinker.  Bourbons  tend to be a bit sweet for me, although I do like Woodfords.
Macallen 18 is what I usually drink, and now that its after Labor Day, it's time to put away the gin and start on the dark liquors.

I love my Macallan. Most favorite. Second favorite is Glenmorangie.

My Dad's brother used to say that Scotch tasted like an old dishrag that had been sitting by the sink too long. Why he was sucking on those dishrags was beyond me... but I never developed a taste for Scotch either. In my heavy drinking days I drank dark Jamaican Rum. Man, I drank a lot of that stuff. But in smaller quanitities and at certain imes I also liked Irish Whiskey and I loooooved a good cognac, the best being the ones that I could not afford.

Have you tried Dalwhinnie?  Good stuff too,  a little lighter than Macallen.

May I recommend Oban?  My scotch drinking friends and I were introduced to Oban by one of our favorite bar tenders and have adopted it as our preferred scotch.  In 3 different blind taste tests where people brought their favorites, including both Blue and Oban, Oban was either selected as #1 or #2 by everyone.   Blue had a few votes for #1, but most people thought it was 2 or 3 among all the options.

I quite enjoyed a Dalwhinnie 15 year, but have to admit my absolute favorite so far was The Balvenie Single Barrel 15 year.
