and bless their hearts!..

Yes girl! Sadly, NC is still a bit behind and stuck in a bible that that bent and twist to fit their twisted sense of right and wrong..

As long as you go to church on Sunday and pray for forgivness, you can start all over again after church but never, ever, ever talk about your sins. If you don't talk about it outside of church it never happened!...

Of course I've got a joke for everything but this one goes right with what Miss Jessica said.

Ya know why ya take two Baptists fishing with ya?
If you take one he'll drink all you're beer, but if you take two neither one of them will touch it!!

So true!!

Just remember by State law if you register with someone of the opposite sex at a hotel as "Married" You are..legally married!

Also in that same stay, you must get a room with double beds that are at least two feet apart

Last but not least, while having sex, you must stay in missionary position and pull the shades down

Also, if that engagement makes you want to sing! Better be ON KEY or you will be breaking the law

Dumb laws...

That's hilarious! (And sooo true!)

Confirmation on your joke, only a true story about pizza.

I used to be really involved in church and the leadership were health nuts. So, two of the biggies in church came to my house warming party with about ten other people.

I bought a bunch of pizza, probably too much actually... I was used to ordering that stuff for over 200 pigs, so I didn't really know how hungry they would be.

Well, one of the ladies kept making negative comments on the pizza and everyone was looking around all awkward, pizza smell filling the air. "We all ate. Looks like you're going to have a lot of pizza when we leave." one ate before hand, so she didn't eat any. I got some pizza and said, "Well, I'm hungry, and i'm going to have some, It's here if anyone else gets hungry." and listened to her bitch while I ate.

So the three (two leaders and one follower) left. You know what happened when they left?

EVERYBODY STARTED EATING THE PIZZA! AND grabbing entire boxes and taking it home.

I was so pissed and appalled.

Well using my superior skills of deduction Sherlock here can rule out that it was not a Baptist or probally even a Methodist congregation. Have you ever seen a thin minister of either of those faiths? That crowd can eat!! I can hear the thunder rolling now I better get inside before the lighting strikes!! Kind of like have ya ever noticed there are like no hotties at most church's? Jesus needs some hot chicks in his army those chubby gals with the long dresses I see around my neck of the woods ain't encouraging me to be more devout for sure!!

That brings another joke to mind, I'll save it for later gotta get inside before the lightning comes down!!

So you can't blame teachers salaries and unemployment rate on lower taxes. What you need to ask yourself is, for 20 years our tax rate has been the highest in the Southeast, so why are we so low in education and highest in unemployment when that's the case?

I see him in a few weeks.

I also want him to lower the State Cap Gains Rate from 7.8%.  Add the new Obama 20% + the 3.8% Obamacare Tax and BAM - work hard to build and sell a company and you pay 31.60% in taxes.

I could have purchased a lovely new home for the last 7.8% I paid had I lived in FL or somewhere else.

Darn taxes suck!

Oh and ban all same sex marriages except for very attractive ladies - just saying!

Surely there's enough "Yankees" in the RTP area and Charlotte area to reverse this problem haha. Guess the south has never heard of the "seperation of church and state" concept but we all want to hate on the Muslims for using religious law.

Not at the expense of personal freedoms & choices. I hate govn. meddling in my life and imposing the social positions of others upon me.

And teachers have been underpaid and public education undervalued in NC for decades. A step backwards isn't the answer.

It goes waaaaay farther than that . . a husband and wife can't even engage in oral sex in the privacy of their car or own home! Very dogmatic, absurd, impractical and intrusive to our own rights and sexuality within our own marriages and reminds me of my ex's church member handbook lol where it forbids a husband and wife to even dance together in their own home . . . next they are going to go back in time and start the "witch hunts" again! No wonder others are closing up shop and shipping out . .  Grrr!

misleading everyone about taxes.  The capital gains tax (which is what you are talking about), used to be 30%.  It was TEMPORARILY lowered to 15% in the attempt to spur trickle down economics, which we all know doesn't work.  Congress ( you know the guys that make $170+ a year & don't do anything), passed a revision effective this year, raising it to 20%.  Otherwise, it would have reverted back to 30%.  So don't blame Obama, he doesn't pass laws, he can only sign what Congress passes into laws.

You should have sold last year if you were concerned about the taxes.  The effective date isn't a surprise.

Oh, & when you see the governor, be sure to say, "FRANKLY" (loved the feedback piece in today's Observer) his leadership is non-existent.  Won't get my vote.  Fool me once, shame on me..........

I was married and My mother in law ( A good southern Baptist Christian from Union Country)  Ha, Ha! supported her church and encouraged her family to burn all Harry Potter books because they were about witch craft.. YES! I am serious..

my last encounter with her was when..
She put a letter in my mailbox asking me to go to church and confess my sins so I could be a better wife.. If I had been a better wife, My husband would not have left me.. ( Might I add, He was the one having an affair with a known bisexual woman who had left her husband...

We were actually a pastoral family . . married and I didn't finish college . . I put him through 4 years of college and took care of our babies at home and worked at home to cover expenses . . when times got tough he decided to find another pasture and got a girl pregnant .. at the time I was devastated . . needless to say . . it was not something that could be worked out in that situation and looking at where he is today lol it was the best thing that ever happened to me . . and I am having WAY more fun and more fulfilled at the prime of my life than he is . . that's for sure!

But to stay on topic . . there's something wrong when anybody or organization tries to control our sexuality even in our own private lives or our home . . hello! We are sexual people with REAL needs and you can't ignore that!

Capital gains rate was permanently reduced to 20% by Bill Clinton in 1997. Bush tax cuts temporarily took it to 15%, now it's back to 20%. Opramacare added another 3.8% on dividends and capital gains. So, truthfully, capital gains are higher under Oprama than under the glory balanced budget years of Bill Clinton.

This is the second post I have read today with this same false claim. Another was on some political board. You all must be getting your info from the same liberal blog. Believe it or not, not everything on the web is true.

"So don't blame Obama, he doesn't pass laws, he can only sign what Congress passes into laws."

He has no leadership power over the laws that laws get passed?  Funny he's quick to stand up and take credit for some of them.  I was taught many years ago that with power comes responsibility, that means taking credit/blame for the good, the bad and the ugly.

The Cap gains was reduced under Bill Clinton and was one of the reasons for growth in the "Clinton economy",  now you say it didn't work. The reality is "taxes" don't fund government, revenue does. In the early 1960s JFK reduced taxes to increase revenue, it worked then and will work today. Today we're hell bent on growing the government, how does the government get funded to pay its commitments when everyone works for the government. The math will never work out.

One last confusing point, you say trickle down economics doesn't work.  How can it trickle up?  Do you know anyone that's gotten a job from a poor person?
