But it my case it was just a brief stint during college. No transition to escorting. I never imagined I would be a stripper as I was just cocktailing, and then got talked into trying it. I think a lot of the waitresses do that. Usually because they want to make more money, but for me my friend who danced just wanted me to be able to hang out with her all night lol. I never imagined I'd ever end up dancing, much less end up being an escort!

In the clubs I wasn't propositioned by anyone, I didn't do dirty stuff in the back, didn't meet up with patrons outside the club. I was a good little girl lol. So it wasn't something where I started doing that stuff, and transitioned from there for more money or anything like that. Most do though. There's a million guys that come through the club and don't want to spend money in the club but want you to meet up with them at their hotel or place after you get off work. And a lot of girls will, to make money, and it goes from there.

I was a terrible stripper though. You aren't always treated with respect by guys that come in, and I got in trouble a lot for "accidently" spilling drinks on their lap with my heels. :-)

I am curious for the ladies to respond.  I know of a few ladies that have had been a exotic dancer/stripper as it were. Previously to there change of job.  I can only imagine that the amount of BS/ Drama has got to be considerably less. I have no doubt that there are still issues.  Such is the way of life.

I know that this has occurred. Both Professionally speaking and on a family level. I know of one or two ladies that made the transfer and accomplished there goals and retired.  Lets just say, My cousin was a well know Feature entertainer. She went from dancer, to independent, to agency, to owner her own agency, to getting in some serious trouble and forced to retire. She was always big on working with independents verses an agency. Just because of the amount of money she felt she was being shorted as it were.

Curious as to how some of you ladies. Might have made the transition. If not from dancer point. What was your former job before this?

With deepest respect and empathy,
Tall

And I'm a tad accident prone so I'm sure I would have ended up with a knot on my forehead from a collision with the stripper pole!

I'm a GREAT dancer in 3 inch heels or in my sneakers or barefooted though. It's all in the hips...

xoxo,

Steph

No, but I have gotten asked that....In fact someone VERY RUDE recently had expected me to have been a stripper before I started escorting I guess and was very annoyed with me when I told him that I never had been. :(

Were you offended because he made an assumption about you or were you offended because the assumption was a stipper? Although no one should assume anything about one's history or circumstances, I don't think its an insult to have been a dancer, present or past. In very little defense of the rude guy, its not a stretch to see many ladies evolve or move through different segments of the adult industry. I'm not taking this guy's side at all. It doesn't sound like he was as respectful as we all should be. Some of us dummies have misconceptions about the business, but some of those misconceptions have statistical merit. At the end of the day, weather you were a dancer or homemaker, you deserve mutual respect by your clients.

I was offended because when I told him I wasn't, he got really rude and annoyed and acted as if that was expected of all providers or something.

This is true for us one and all. Hide sight is always 20/20. But, it is something to make mistakes and learn from them. Its part of being alive and its also part of being human.

I sadly dont have the stage presence or dance ability to be a dancer.  Nor was it something I wanted to do.  My background is in healthcare and I will be going back to school soon to finish my nursing degree.  Before halthcare I worked in retail and customer service which in turn helps me with my current calling.  And in my opinion it is a calling.  I love what I do.  The people I meet and the places I have been able see.  So thats me.
