Folks.  Coming to Raleigh for the first time.  Are there any hotels that are,

1.  In areas where there are restaurants, etc
2.  Have decent rooms, etc.
3. Are at least mildly hobby friendly  (IE - nice bar, larger lobby, etc)?

Let me know.  Thanks.  Will be there Monday and Tuesday next week.

...wood.

Hard, I like Clarion, downtown.  Good rates, nice hotel, nice bar at the top,  girls know it, and its walking distance to glenwood ave with lots of nitelife.  Have fun,  BTW, try to see MatureGFE.  She one of the best....

near Crabtree Mall.  The Mall contains several wonderful eateries (PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory, just to name two of my favs).

We'll be there next Monday and Tuesday, too.

Enjoy your first visit to this great city.

and in Raleigh the Renaissance Raleigh at North Hills.  The Carolina Inn is on the UNC Campus just as you might guess the Washington Duke Inn is at Duke.
ALL of these are awesome and luxurious and very affordable.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

It's a beaustiful property, and it's in the North Hills/mid town area where you are in walking distance from many shops and good restaurants. It has a beautiful lobby and a nice bar and restaurant.

Check it out!!!

Steph

It would depend on what your intentions are.  IMHO, I believe you need to be somewhat cautious of the Crabtree area.  Specifically, I would AVOID the Holiday Inn - it is HEAVILY trafficked.  While I know of know stings there, personally, it gives me the heebie-jeebies to see incall there.  I think the staff knows very well what goes on but is hobby friendly (it would seem) but who knows...that could always change.  I have to believe local LE knows what goes on.

One of the nicest hotels I have ever hobbied in was the Embassy Suites just across from Crabtree.  You can enter from a sub-lobby floor and get access to the elevators there.  It makes for a very comfortable experience, IMHO.  And the rooms are very nice.  There are several other hotels in that vicinity, including a Sheraton, but remember, the area is HEAVILY trafficked, so pick and choose well.

I would be very careful about the airport area.  The local Morrisville PD is pretty keen about hobbying activity there and there have been numerous stings, including a couple of televised perk walks.  So avoid, Airport Blvd.  There are several hotels on the periphery of the airport - a Hilton and several others, which would be fine.  Look for hotels on Miami Blvd. in RTP (or Durham).

The BEST hotel for hobbying near the RTP area is the DoubleTree which is accessed off Hwy 55 and is west of the airport.  Again, very discreet entrance posts you up away from the desk and gives you screened access to the lobby elevators.  The rooms are VERY nice.  This is my favorite hobby locale.

You might try  posting up also in Cary.  There are several nice hotels there too.

Hope this helps.

It is great advice to steer clear of airport blvd.

While I like the Embassy Suites hotel, for a provider it kinda sucks for an incall. What with the atrium affect, when you are in the public area you can see all the doors to the rooms. Someone could be  getting an eye full.

There is a wonderful Hilton in Cary. Rocking chair porch, they have lots of weddings and functions there.

If you want luxury and an awesome bar and menu and don't mind driving try one of the three I mentioned.

Have Fun
