I tend to agree with what Sexy Carolina has written.  There are a great number of very attractive and sexy ladies in the area that charge less that what you have targeted as an entry point into the market.  As Sexy noted, the 250 range is about the ceiling for a lot of individuals.  There are ladies at 300 but knowing may of them that charge that rate, they have told me they have seen there business drop off pretty dramatically.  It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.  If you are charging a premium to the majority of the other providers you had better be worth it or else suffer the consequences. The economy is wreaking havoc for a lot of folks and given that this is discretionary income used to participate in this hobby it makes sense that MOST people are playing a lot less and being highly selective of who they see.  If I know of a quality lady at 250 I am not inclined or intrigued by ladies at 300 or 350 or higher. Simple economics.  Raleigh or Charlotte markets are about even.

As any business owner knows, no business plan survives contact with reality.

As I announced to my VIP newsletter subscribers last year, we will be moving into the NC market 4th quarter of 2011. After months of looking at demographics, cost of living trends and socioeconomic data, the formula dictated a "start here " answer.

That is all well and good if you solely worship the god of logic, however reality and logic are star crossed lovers at best.

Here is my very serious question.

From the consumer point of view if you were coming into the market at the 300 to 475 price point which city would you focus on and why?

I know what the numbers tell me but screw that I would like a point of view outside of my vision.

Constructive answers please, make your case and justify it, I'm seeking to be enlightened with things I don't know.

Most agencies in North Carolina offer quality companionship with HOT Young ladies for 250. So I am not sure if the carolinas can keep your ladies booked at such high rates. Charlotte would be the other option.  This is all anecdotal, but:

1) I think the various industries associated with the Research Triangle Park provide a lot of dorky guys (like myself) with the inclination to pay to get laid and the money to do so.

2) Looking at 2010 census data, Charlotte has more people, but when you add in the nearby cities of Durham, Cary, and Greensboro, Raleigh has more.

3) A girl I know whose rate is in the middle of your target range has tried touring to both Raleigh and Charlotte but now only returns to Raleigh because she didn't find there to be enough demand in Charlotte.

4) Burlington, NC seems to be the Comstock Lode of PYT's interested in escorting.  In the years I've been watching, one agency in Greensboro has consistently had a better looking selection of women than any of the DC agencies I've seen.  Several of the girls I've met from that agency told me they were from Burlington, and two told me that almost all of the agency's girls at that time were from Burlington.

5) Raleigh is 2 hours closer to your home base than Charlotte, in case girls in either location want to try touring to the other.

FWIW, I think you should expect to charge $25 to $50 less per hour than in the DC/NoVA area.

I'm biased but I think Charlotte is a great place to be. The price range might be a bit higher than we are used to, but if the ladies are worth is we'll put out. The arguement by JPTBA is valid and Raleigh is a great market as well. I would hope that if you made Raleigh home you would have regular visits to the Queen City.

...it's almost exactly halfway between Raleigh and Charlotte - about 1.5 hours from each.

I also disagree that the Triangle has more residents than Charlotte.  Charlotte is bigger when considering "metro" regions - just as you include Cary and Durham with the Raleigh market,  you should also include Concord, Kannapolis, Rock Hill and Fort Mill in the Charlotte market.

The bigger issue is that Charlotte is a banking town and well, we know know how the banking industry has been the last couple of years.  Right now Charlotte has a much higher unemployment rate.

My perception is a little skewed since I am used to driving from Greensboro past the point where 85 splits off from 40, seeing the "To Raleigh" signs there as I head north on 85, and thinking Raleigh is just down the road.  I didn't really realize that, according to Google Maps, it's about another 30 minutes from that point.

I am unfamiliar with Charlotte so I didn't know to include those areas...I just found some data for metro areas I hadn't seen before, and you are right - from the 2010 census, the Raleigh metro area has 1,634,847 vs. Charlotte with 1,758,038.

Good point about the banking industry there in Charlotte.

That is correct. Charlotte is at 10%+ Unemployment, and as a side-result, those who have lost jobs and taking new ones are facing the reality that they have to take lower pay in many cases.

I am still searching, but I'd just as soon make the trip to Asheville, Columbia, or Greensboro before I pay a higher rate when someone else fits the bill in personality, appearance, and sometimes forgets what time we got together :) (hey, it happened before, but that was like 12 years ago and no idea where she is now, otherwise I'd ask her for a referral to one who really interests me here in town).

From a "consumer point of view", I doubt you will find success with your current stable of ladies at the price point you have quoted.
