Yep $250 would be the price .

When women offer shorter time increments, they almost always offer them at what amounts to a higher rate. I generally don't offer half hour sessions either, but in this economy, I have started to offer them. My half hour rate certainly isn't half of my hourly rate, but it IS a lower rate than my hour rate. Gentlemen who do not want to pay for the full hour now have the option of paying a slightyly lower rate, but for less time.

The principle at work here is the more time you request, the lower the rate goes. This is no different from how most bussinesses operate. Go to the grocery store and randomly pick any item in the store. Compare the price for the product in a small package, then compare the same product in a larger or economy size package. The more you buy at one time, the better the price is. Its a smart way to sell more product.

So basically, this isn't bad math, its good business.

You are saying she lowered her rate from 400 to 350 but for less time...well how is that different from all the other ladies rates?  I myself along with many offer 300 for the hour but a half hour for 250...so....so while other ladies are taking 50 off but 30 minutes off our time....this beautiful woman has deducted the same 50 of but only 15 minutes!!!  So actually she is offering a better deal than me and the other providers.  

I think what is bothering you is her higher rate all around....which again is her perogative and should not be attacked for it.

There are still men out there that are not effected by the economy and can afford those rates and obviously she get's it or she would have changed it.

There have been so many great women that have left this board due to all the attacks...it is suppose to be a fun and entertaining board that brings men and women together.

OK, see, I was nice to you. I didn't post a scathing response to your little dig at Avery about how she never made your "favorites" list. I gave you a bit of a break. I did start to type a reply, in which I suggested that you had already done the damage and presented yourself as low rent and low class. And I suggested that your attempt to portray yourself as some sort of hobbying playboy in your final post was meaningless. But, I gave you a slight brownie point because you at least had the grace to emphasize the fact that you have patronized Apres Vous, and recommend to others that they patronize them. I thought that was pretty classy, even though it came on the heels of a petulant post to Avery.

If you will look at the entire thread though, you will see a post by "SoftShoes". Click on that post, and you will notice that there is no envelope by the poster's name. That is because SoftShoe is an ALIAS. THAT post was totally uncalled for, insulting, and replete with racial slurs to boot. My response HERE was directed at HIM, not you, and he really deserves far worse than what I gave him. A little thin skinned are we perhaps?? Rather ironic that in your response to a response that was not directed to you, you suggest that others should "get over themselves". With great humility, I dare to suggest you might take such advice into your own consideration.

Now then, having dispensed with that bit of unpleasantness, lets get back to a message you just can't seem to fathom. There is no problem with Apres Vous' math here. What you see is a very common bussiness model. Here is an example. I have a favorite gourmet coffee that is made by a local company here. They used to offer it only in 1 pound bags, and a pound goes for about $9.50. Times are tight though, so recently I switched to another brand that is less expensive. I noticed the other day though, that they now offer 3 pound bags as well. Now, if they worked their pricing the way YOU think Apres Vous should, then a 3-pound bag should cost $28.50. (9.5x3). It doesn't. They are selling it for $24.00, which means that I am paying $8.00 per pound when I buy the 3 pound bag. So I'm getting a little bit of a discount simply because I bought more of their product. Good for me since I get to enjoy my gourmet coffee, and good for them since they are selling more of their product.

This is EXACTLY what Apres Vous did, only they did it in reverse. In order to make it easier for gentlemen to patronize them, they offered a lower price point for those who feel the full hour rate is too steep. In exchange for a lower price point, the amount of time, analogous to product, is lower. When I'm standing in the store, I get the same option. If I can't afford to pay $24.00 right now for 3 pounds of my favorite coffee, I sitll have the option of going for the lower priced 1 pound bag. Yes, in doing that, I get less product overall, but it is there as an option, and I can then decide which option to choose based on my budget. Frankly, when it comes down to it, when I'm enjoying that perfect cup of coffee in the morning, my taste buds are going to be happy either way.

So fella, please just relax. No one directed any insults at you. The (self-censored)-jerk who made the crack about "love you long time" though, that's a different story.

My final suggestion to you, and to all the guys who have written posts griping about rates - guys, we GET it. We hear you. We really do. But at the end of the day, it is and will always be up to the lady to decide what an appropriate rate is for her. Alot of women have adjusted their rates in various ways in response to our economic situation. Some are offering more time, some offering shorter session, some a mixture of both, and some women haven't made any changes at all because they don't need to. Threads that descend into this sort of petty bickering don't help, don't change anything, have goten REALLY REALLY old, and are a disservice to a lady who simply wanted to run an ad. Insted of getting her ad out though, this thread has been hijacked by gripes about a discount that doesn't meet your expectations. How is that fair to the lady? This is her livelihood here. If you can't respect that, then don't call yourself a hobbyist.

I never said that I dont think YOU personally can not afford her rate...you read into that...first miscommunication.

WE DO understand your point about the "recession special"......but it is you who is not hearing our point...and I am saying this with a smile on my face.....her special does make perfect mathmatical sense!

Forget her special for one moment.....if I write...my hour rate is 300 and my half hour rate is 250....does that make sense to you?  YES it does.

I think you are trying to disect her rate into increments of 15 minutes and saying that she is charging 100 per 15 minutes and 45 minutes adds up to 300.  That would be accurate.....but she is not charging in 15 minutes increments....

all the poor girl is trying to say is hey...if 400 is too much for you....I will charge you 350 for less time...completely legit. Happens every day.  But she shouldnt be thrashed on an open forum for it....and of course others have added onto your comment which drew negative attention to the really beautiful woman.  

So we are aware of your point of view but do not agree with it....that's all....and the ladies on a daily basis keep asking the guys to stop bringing up rates....a lady has the right to set her own rate...and we kindly ask the gents if they dont want to pay that rate then smile and move on...
