I know it is mostly just entertainment, but do the things people post and/or how they express them have an impact on your interest/willingness to see them?  Does it make you more comfortable?  What about user names or aliases?  Do you form an impression of someone based on the name they choose?  Does it turn out to be right or wrong when you actually meet?  While this is business, human emotions are still involved, so what say you?

Ladies, have you been so put off by someone's posts that you would refuse to see them, no matter how much they are paying?  Or, on the other side, have you seen posts or comments that piqued your interest or maybe even made you want to see a particular guy?  

Guys, have you seen a lady's ad, or photo, or review that had you ready to call, but then read a post that put you off completely?  Conversly, has a lady's post struck a chord so much that it made you go look at her site to find out more?  Okay, I know that us guys go look at every lady's site, but you know what I mean here, lol.

Lastly has anyone had a perfectly normal and successful session with a guy or lady, only to find out after the fact that this person often posts offensive or distasteful comments using a alias?

The anonymity of board posting will sometimes allow a comment that does not really reflect their behavior in real life (if hobbying is real life, LOL)  I rely on reviews from trusted TER regular reviewers.

What a thought provoking post.  Despite me still being new to the hobby,  one's board posts have been a deciding factor in who I have seen.  It wasn't the main thing but their attitude / persona helped me finalize my decision.  Btw, I look forward to seeing that special lady in early June

Yes, there HAVE been a few gents posts that have turned me against seeing them altogether. I dont know if it was the right decision or not, but if they came off as bullies or buttheads, I, for one, have NO interest in meeting them.  

On the other side, Yes, i have seen some posts that made me VERY interested in meeting certain gents. Mainly because I think they have a GREAT sense of humor, or a great personality, based on the things they say on the boards. So far, I've been pleasantly surprised and the guys that seem great on the boards really ARE great in person, too.

Yes, there ARE certain user names that kinda turn me off from seeing them. For example, if I see someone using TedBundy or WomanHater as a user name, I dont believe I would have ANY interest in meeting them lol!! Whether thats right or wrong, doesnt matter to me. I think if you intentionally choose a user name that connotes hatred or killer tendencies, you are trying to convey a message. I hear the message loud and clear lol!!

Personally, I ask for TER handles during screening for this very reason. If I look and see a history (eg, not just one post) of jerk-ery, or the guy seems like the type who views women as blow-up dolls, or is just rude constantly, then he goes on my DNS list. Mildly awful guys might be able to get around that policy, but only if they're willing to pay the extra Asshole Tax I add to my normal rate.
On the other hand, I'm still surprised by how gentlemanly and polite towards us ladies most of you Carolina fellas are. When I was just starting out, I heard sooo much about how review board guys were all basically Lucifer- yet literally every single gentleman I've met/corresponded with from TER ( with only one exception) has been so respectful, kind, and appreciative. I never really thought about it that way. I used to have another handle, but then lost the email address for it and the password, so I'm starting from scratch again.  

That said, I can def see what you mean, and it makes perfect sense. But I just enjoy reading the convo's.

Call me a lurker, if u will, and I've been somewhat lazy about reviews lately. I need to add a few.

I had a guy book me just because I commented on the GD board that I never have to prepare for Greek.  Weird I know.

Good commentary on an interesting topic. On the hobbyist side of the isle, I routinely browse the ter boards and I’ve had great experiences with two different ladies who I likely would not have seen otherwise had I not been initially drawn to them by the personality they conveyed in their posts.

Each individual gentleman’s baseline standard for physical attractiveness, dictated solely by our unique tastes and preferences, will always reign supreme as the primary determinant of whether or not we, as respective hobbyists, decide to see a particular lady.  

Crass as it may be, the fact remains that guys spend money in the hobby first and foremost so that a beautiful woman can get us off. If our attraction switches aren’t tripped, it doesn’t matter how interesting she is. Otherwise, the late Margaret Thatcher would have been the most jerked off to woman of the past century.

Once the physical baseline standard referenced above has been satisfied however (i.e. finding a woman to be sexually attractive), then personality, intellect and attitude become critically important as a differentiating factor that sets ladies apart.  

I’ll opt for the unassumingly cute girl next door who is smart and engaging over a supermodel looker who is an inane bimbo any day. For this reason, I’ve long lamented TER’s lack of something akin to a third Personality-like scale to supplement Looks and Performance.  

I enjoy myself most in the company of interesting ladies who I consider to be on the same intellectual plane as I. This has an admittedly pretentious undertone, but it doesn’t detract from its truth.  

I would go so far as to presume that the feeling is mutual among most providers. If given the choice between two clean cut and polite older clients, one of whom is somewhat of a dullard and the other of whom is that bearded ‘Dos Equis’ guy purported to be the most interesting man in the world, I would venture to guess that most ladies would prefer the latter.  

Hell, that SOB is so debonair his escorts may quite possibly even pay him…lol...

At any rate, good discussion and... “stay thirsty my friends….

I mean anyone/everyone has had a off day and maybe posted something offensive, but someone who goes out of their way to be a jag off all of time, always insulting people, starting drama, ect, I figure it would be worse in person. Even if they might be different in person, I don't think I could forget what their board personality was.

I can think of one lady I had really wanted to see and after reading her posts decided not to. And guys remember you are always being watched here by the ladies. Think my attitude here had helped me out a bit as far as opening up some communication with some great ladies. And yes the nut job you see here is the real me.

I think you may have misunderstood sweetie : ) . Personality mattering for a provider is  precisely my point. That, if two prospective older clients are both clean cut and polite, all other things held equal, most ladies would prefer the company of someone compelling vs. a dullard.

Although I suppose a case could be made that the Dos Equis guy, in addition to being interesting, may also hold the distinction of being, ...."the most pompous man in the world", lol

Providers who are prolific posters give me a keen insight into their real personalities. While I am not paying for a personality per se I steer clear of providers who are big drama queens, man haters or blacklist abusers. After so many years on TER they become easy to spot.

On the same token, I have seen providers who are playful and cheery and that was gleaned from board posts.

Most important are the reviews themselves, but I always search the boards for posts and many of them make me move on.
