1. Do you want to keep it just the way it was?
2. What would you like to change?
1. I liked the idea of a moderator. I think he had a pretty good handle on the personalities of the posters and what their tolerence level was. If he saw thing were getting out of hand, he could step in and dial things back down a notch by dealing one on one with the individuals. Some of us have thicker skins than others. Some of the best dicscussions don't take place until our voices get raised a little. Seems like with the remote moderation, there's lots of times the thread gets pruned before the discussion gets started. If we can't have a moderator who understands us, at least let us be moderated by only 2 or 3 of the TER support team. That way they can learn who we are. Don't jump in and prune the thread until it's "for sure" out of hand. Excessive pruning will kill the whole tree.
1a. If you're worried about a thread, is there a way to moderate the whole thread? Can you make it so that every post going to that thread has to be reviewed before getting added? I think that sometimes we have a tendence to "respond in haste and regret at leisure". A little time lag at times can be good. I know there have been times that I have made a post in anger and then immediately edited it so it would sit in the approval que. That gave me time to contact the moderator and have it rejected.
2. Leave the picture threads as they were. If we have pictures every day thats great. If us guys want a picture, let us ask and the ladies can respond as they see fit. If the ladies want to start a thread, let them. You never discourage beauty and they are all beautiful. I do agree with the policy of not having their websites on the bottom of the post. If I want any more information, I'll use the "See my TER reviews" link.
2a. Guys, don't post comments in the middle of the pictures. Someone will start a separate post for us to appreciate the art on. I know that there are occasions where a picture just knocks your dick stiff instantly. Trust me, I really know that happens. Send the lady a PM. Don't put it in the middle of a picture thread. You can comment about that individual picture in the appreciation thread but I really feel that a PM is the right way to go. It might open up a whole new world if you contact her.
3. Now, I've been unfair to the women who are just starting out and don't have the names linked to their profiles. If a unreviewed provider posts a picture, then allow the posting of a link to her website. That will pretty much level the playing field.
4. This one will probably stir some controversy. There are providers that don't have their alias' linked to their reviews. It shouldn't be too hard for TER support to link those automatically. Don't MAKE the ladies ask for it to be done. Also, you could allow us gents to point you in the right direction if we know someone like that. If you can verify what we are telling you then go ahead and make the link.
5. Allow us one day a week or a month where we can just go crazy and post pretty much anything we want. An "Amnesty Day" if you will. I like the Sunday funnies. If a guy wants to post a picture of squirrels fucking or Bozo the Clown having sex with a monkey, its all good. One day is not going to ruin the board. As long as we are civil and keep personal attacks out of it, I see no harm. It clears the air and keeps us from taking ourselves too seriously.
6. Another controversial one "Report this post" I just got a feeling that this is being used way too much. Unless it's a clear violation of policy don't pull the post. If I "Report this post" on something that is not directed at me, then I become a censor. If I "Report this post" and its directed at me, then pull it. Don't allow me to have a post pulled that doesn't directly concern me. Don't let me have a post pulled because I "think" it might hurt someone elses feelings. Everyone here is supposed to be a grown up and should be able to fight their own battles.
'Nuff for now. Hope the rest of your weekend is fantabulous!
