I agree with Katy and Natasha I miss the way it used to be and I miss the mod he ROCKED!!

I got a very nice pm from TER Support.  Ok so Roadie was gravelling like the ScareCrow on the Wizard of OZ. lol

They checked Hobbywood out and they see that what we had worked for us. That say that want OUR input.  Let's say thier tone was very friendly.  They would like to see our discussion of things on the board.

The questions they have for yall are........

1. Do you want to keep it just the way it was?

2. What would you like to change?

I know its very Quiet on the weekends but I hope yall make a stop and voice your opinion.

I LOVE the Carolinas board the way it was/is! I think this is the friendliest board on TER. I want to keep it the way it is and not change anything (except I would vote HBS1 back as mod/cruise director). Otherwise, please leave it the way it is!! Just my .02

We all get along, and my guess is that any trolls would face extreme social pressure if they tried to stir things up here.

I don't usually participate in the pic threads, but I know the guys love them, and I like having the option to participate.  The girls have fun with various themes, the comments encourage the girls, and so everyone is happy.  Why mess with that??

I can't comment on how the board use to be.  What I can vouch for is how friendly the people are here.  You all have made me feel welcome even though I made some newbie mistakes.  My impression is also that everyone is a tight nit group who look after one another which I think is awesome.

Thanks for allowing me to stay.

The Carolina board is fun and informative.

I don't post a lot, but I do check in often.

If I may be so bold.

I know we arent going back to the moderator system now maybe some day.  I just want to say,   HBS1 was a good moderator.  He smacked my fingers a few times when I richly deserved it.  He was instumental in creating and building Hobbywood.  He had NO favorites that I ever heard of.  I believe he was always fair and sure he would put me in the corner.  I respected the dude.

I would like to see him as host on our board but I aint sure he would want the job lol.  But to the TER support guys,  I have chatted with  HBS1  a few times since the big change and he has never lashed out at the powers to be.  He still warns me on changes so I dont put my feet in my mouth.  And he will yell at me for saying this,  sorry HB but I cant help myself.  I would though consider it a big favor that TER would unmoderate him at your earliest convenience.  He is truly a bigger man than you may give him credit for.

Yes he would make a great Host here, other than that, I'm not in favor of the concept.

xoxo,

Steph

Keep up the good work boardies!

1.  I liked the idea of a moderator.  I think he had a pretty good handle on the personalities of the posters and what their tolerence level was.  If he saw thing were getting out of hand, he could step in and dial things back down a notch by dealing one on one with the individuals. Some of us have thicker skins than others.  Some of the best dicscussions don't take place until our voices get raised a little.  Seems like with the remote moderation, there's lots of times the thread gets pruned before the discussion gets started.  If we can't have a moderator who understands us, at least let us be moderated by only 2 or 3 of the TER support team.  That way they can learn who we are.  Don't jump in and prune the thread until it's "for sure" out of hand.  Excessive pruning will kill the whole tree.

1a.  If you're worried about a thread, is there a way to moderate the whole thread?  Can you make it so that every post going to that thread has to be reviewed before getting added?  I think that sometimes we have a tendence to "respond in haste and regret at leisure".  A little time lag at times can be good.  I know there have been times that I have made a post in anger and then immediately edited it so it would sit in the approval que.  That gave me time to contact the moderator and have it rejected.

2.  Leave the picture threads as they were.  If we have pictures every day thats great.  If us guys want a picture, let us ask and the ladies can respond as they see fit.  If the ladies want to start a thread, let them.  You never discourage beauty and they are all beautiful.  I do agree with the policy of not having their websites on the bottom of the post.  If I want any more information,  I'll use the "See my TER reviews" link.

2a.  Guys, don't post comments in the middle of the pictures.  Someone will start a separate post for us to appreciate the art on.  I know that there are occasions where a picture just knocks your dick stiff instantly.  Trust me, I really know that happens.  Send the lady a PM.  Don't put it in the middle of a picture thread. You can comment about that individual picture in the appreciation thread but I really feel that a PM is the right way to go.  It might open up a whole new world if you contact her.

3.  Now, I've been unfair to the women who are just starting out and don't have the names linked to their profiles.  If a unreviewed provider posts a picture, then allow the posting of a link to her website.  That will pretty much level the playing field.

4.  This one will probably stir some controversy.  There are providers that don't have their alias' linked to their reviews.  It shouldn't be too hard for TER support to link those automatically.  Don't MAKE the ladies ask for it to be done. Also, you could allow us gents to point you in the right direction if we know someone like that.  If you can verify what we are telling you then go ahead and make the link.

5.  Allow us one day a week or a month where we can just go crazy and post pretty much anything we want.  An "Amnesty Day" if you will.  I like the Sunday funnies.  If a guy wants to post a picture of squirrels fucking or Bozo the Clown having sex with a monkey, its all good.  One day is not going to ruin the board.  As long as we are civil and keep personal attacks out of it, I see no harm.  It clears the air and keeps us from taking ourselves too seriously.

6.  Another controversial one "Report this post"  I just got a feeling that this is being used way too much.  Unless it's a clear violation of policy don't pull the post.  If I "Report this post" on something that is not directed at me, then I become a censor.  If I "Report this post" and its directed at me, then pull it.  Don't allow me to have a post pulled that doesn't directly concern me.  Don't let me have a post pulled because I "think" it might hurt someone elses feelings.  Everyone here is supposed to be a grown up and should be able to fight their own battles.

'Nuff for now.  Hope the rest of your weekend is fantabulous!

Dude as a whole I agree, 'BUT' (dont you hate that kind of but?)   I know sometimes we didnt talk in the art Galley.  And it was wonderful.  But sometimes there was a lot of banter which also was wonderful.  To have a rule to say 'To post or not to post" may at times be counter productive.  I love it when Agent adds her comment, or someone drools over a a great pic,  and when some of the ladies banter with the guys in general.  Becomes more or less Burlesque in feeling.  These ladies can be as funny as they are sexy.  So why cant we determine, or let the ladies determine if its an art galley or fun with mirrors and lace lol.

It could be as simple designating specific days as "no comments allowed in the gallery" and leave the other days open for comments.

Hmmm, I think it needs tweaking a bit. I liked it the way it WAS with our mod, but I really doubt TER will go back to having mods on the boards. Everything is now overseas, nothing here in the states. Legally I understand why they did it, bit it doesn't really leave me with warm and fuzzies.

That being said, Support has been good at getting back to me on some issues I had.

I really hope we do not get Hosts and Hostesses on the Carolinas Board. It is working out ok on the FL Board Board but it was a very bumpy start, and the Atlanta Board, but I don't think we need them here.

Changes, hmmmm. I'd like to hear from Admin with specifics on theme day threads and posts in general. We need some guidelines so everybody will know what is koser, so to speak. I've never pushed the "report button" on a post so I don't know how it works. Does a post  get removed if just one person reports it, I don't know? Hopefully not.

This post got longer than intended so that's it for me.

xoxo,

Steph

I say do not limit comments, under any thread, unless the comment is meant to hurt or denigrate anyone else on the thread, or it degenerates into a hijack of the original posters intent.
Picture Threads - Let's admire the ladies.
Ad Threads - Let's admire the ladies.
General Hobby Questions - Feel free to post, answer, have fun when appropriate, be serious when it is called for.
This idea of posts being narrowly restricted can very well damper the fun.
Fun - I thought that is what we were here for.

I still never really got an answear as to why the gentlemen can't ask for the picture gallery. but it's not really a big deal..

The board has been a bit silent over the last few weeks and I suspect that is due to the changes but life runs in spells..

The best part about the Carolina board for me is that: We may not all see eye to eye but we can usually discuss and debate it and even sometimes agree to disagree without all the hostility that I have seen on other boards..

Thanks Roadie for being the best ring leader of our little circus!

a ring leader and liked it.  But The Carolina boys are doing thier part.  They are concerned but you ladies are always first on our mind and what is fair and right for all the ladies.
