Sorry, since I am nonVIP, I will post here. In Charlotte, the 2 best areas are North Tryon Street near UNCC, and a few exits North on I85, the Concord Mills area. Please stay away from hotels near the airport.
In Raleigh, there are plenty of hotels at Crabtree Mall area along Glenwood Ave, North Hills area has some nice apartment complexes. Of course there is always The Governors Mansion. Hope this helps.....be safe!

as far as areas to live and work I'd say south Charlotte or South Park. Both are more pricey. South Park is probably more convenient for people coming from different areas of the city. If you're going to be using a static incall location think about the convenience factor for clients. If you're going to use hotels then it's not as big a deal. Charlotte has lots of cute little neighborhood areas too- Plaza Midwood, Dilworth, Elizabeth, NoDa etc.
