Have come across a conundrum.  I have the pleasure of entertaining a special provider very soon and I am the host.  While that is not a first to me it is the first time I plan on REALLY being a generous host.  As in, no straight to the bedroom, but I do not drink.  Period.  While I have no problem buying some beverage for the lady I do not want to put out the vibe of trying to 'liquor her up' without having a drink myself.  I also feel that serving cokes on ice is somehow not appropriate.  What would you guys suggest?  Maybe some sparkling water or something like that?

You might try a spicy ginger beer, or really hot ginger ale, like Blenheim.  Fresh Market should have it.  They look like cocktails, and being spicy, you won't guzzle them.  Vodka and lime goes great in either one if anyone wants to try.

Respecting your first post I do not use beverage alcohol at all. Long line of irresponsible drunks on both sides. So I guess I create some discomfort in those that do. Why not just ask?  Am I showing off my lack of social graces?

Only the French would make vodka from grapes- then
distill the hell out of it. I've had Russian vodka, hell! I've  
even had Polish vodka made from potatoes (it was good) But
I'll pass on the Frog juice ... I don't care how good P. Ditty sez it is!

What if she gets sick and throw up? This actually happened to me. I was on a date one night and the guy who invited me had a full time driver with a limousine. He was actually very nice looking and I was surprised that he got to join us for dinner.  

I enjoy having a drink with my men...consider it a lovely aphrodisiac.  I am a big girl and can responsibly limit myself as an adult.  I have heard stories from hobbyists that just leave my eyebrows permanently up hearing about ladies that seem to have a substance abuse issue.  Know your lady and keep it reserved...I dismiss men who begin to drink too much, btw
