I had no idea I was going to get all these wishes. Thanks Roadie for the greetings. Of course, it was bad enough on Friday when the ladies on my office posted like 20 signs around the walls saying how old I was going to be. But the chocolate cake took the pain away.
Having a birthday is not a huge big deal to me, as I have had so many that the flames from the cake not singe my eyebrows. However, having a birthday beats the hell out of NOT having a birthday, and once you get a few behind you, your thoughts go to those who never got as many, many of them close to us.
Anyway, having recently discovered this board, and getting the chance to have some friendly banter with people with similar interests, I realize how truly young we are if we just allow ourselves to be.
And to those who wonder or asked, I had a GREAT birthday. If you count playing golf on a wet course, allowing my step son to talk me into playing from the back tees, when I now qualify for the front ones, chasing a 2 year old around the house while she squealed and terrified the cat, and generally doing noting at all productive a great day..! (and I do)..
