as much as I did, darlins! LOL!!

On my third week in Italy and I can't tell you how much I miss the voices of home.  Sure the accents here are nice, but there's nothing like hearing "sweetie" in a southern US accent.

That was good. I brought a friend down here from Minnesota and took him to dinner with some friends. One of the women kept calling him "Honey" and "Darlin" and "Sugar Pie". Scared him to death. He'd never heard a woman talk like that. "What does she want?", he whispered to me.

I'm a Damn Yankee (one who stayed) here for over 20 years and still love to hear the language.  The dialect I like best is from the mountains up above Mt. Airy.  Still thick with Scottish.
