Downtown take a look at 6th & Vine and see if it's to your liking... Wine Bar and good selection of food.  

Foothills Microbrewery is also downtown if that's your vibe...  

Or if you are willing to do about a 3 mile cab ride..  

Check out The Village Tavern at Reynolda Village - Wide selection of good entrees depending on your tastes, reasonably priced, and almost always a visual pleasure in the bar area if you enjoy a little people watching.

Very cool, casual wine bar with great food. Has a mix of all kinds of people from early 20's to late 50's. Business people to artsy college kids
Not your average snobby wine bar, very casual and laid back. I think you have to have 1/2 your body covered in tats to work there.
