Thank you for the advice. I prefer to hear from locals about their experiences. Often times local residents are much more honest than reviewers on the Internet.
Google totally works though, truth. I even have a 'Yelp' app on my phone. Usually the reviews are actually written by real people, even people local to the area.
I can even type what I'm looking for into my Maps app on iPhone and it'll direct me to 5-8 of the closest restaurants/stores/etc. Technology is cray.
Upstream - Southpark Fleming's - known as a steak place uptown but has the best sea bass in town. McCormick and Schmitts - uptown location has a NC mountain trout that is really good. Black Finn - uptown Enzo - uptown if sushi is your deal.
Moderate priced:
Cabo Fish Taco - NoDa area. Fun place Portofinos - Italian place but has good seafood options.

Have dined there a number of times, always was very satisfied. Also LOTS of nice shopping around the area adjacent to the restaurant as well as across the street at SouthPark Mall.
