Providers....Do you have any alternative to using hotels to see clients? Even the best hotels can be a pain at times. Open to your creative suggestions!

Are a good option. You have the comfort and privacy of a home. It can get expensive depending on your area.  
I have heard of clients letting girls use their house, but I doubt that happens much.  
I know of a couple people who have little efficiency apartments (pretty much bedroom and bathroom w a separate entrance) in their house that they will rent out, by the day week or month. They have always been word of mouth in my expierence so might be a bit hard unless you have a good network.

When I had two nickels to rub together, I loved to rent mtn,and  lake houses on the vacation rental places)
Both for O.N.s, where there were pre-activity dinners, boat rides, fireplaces in the bedroom, and as a short time meeting place for a get together, where I had an adult beverage to take the time to reflect on what just happened;P~~~
Now a days, I still prefer a dance session outside the hotels with a lobby walk---YUK!  Houses are much more relaxing, especially if the lady is vocally inclined to sing at the top of her lungs---LUV IT!, LUV IT)
