The term you originally used was "existing". So the exact opposite of that is "non-existing", so I was correct. I really didn't have to attempt any humor. Your original phrase "existing friends"  was funny enough.  I think you meant something like "current friends"  The word "existing" when applied to friends is superfluous. All friends are assumed to exist, or be existing...except perhaps those who are dead.
