I think the general conversation about sex positivity, body positivity, and feminism have all had great benefits to the hobby. More girls are interested in becoming providers. They see sex work as work and see that they can perform an emotional therapy while getting their jollies and (to paraphrase Boston Alex I think?) get laid while getting paid. This is great. We should not be ashamed of our bodies and our desires. Two people (or more!!) can share love and intimacy in a private moment, and I love to be a facilitator of that.
When I was a client at BI, I met some wonderful girls, but I would see that the agency would have a new girl every few months. Nowadays, working as Maya's web monkey, I see something like a dozen applications a week, from where we can introduce 1-2 girls every month. All of them passionate and educated and sex positive!!! Hell, we even have a brain surgery student starting in October. And she doesn't just know about the hypothalamus, she's also smokin' hot.
I think the community is better too. Agencies and indie providers look out for each other more, helping to weed out the occasional bad client. Social networks etc have made it easier to screen clients and see that they're a real person. The review boards are helpful. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only curmudgeon here.
Let's keep up this cycle of acceptance, love, and respect. Friendship is magic!!
