Just as I decide to try this hobby, I see yesterday's front page of the Herald indicating a severe crackdown by LE.  I just HAD to pick now, didn't I?  

Just curious...  is this new purge changing anybody's habits?  Are you being extra careful?  Do these sudden interests in "cleaning things up" usually quiet down a bit after a month or two?

Of course I understand why... because of the public outrage over CL and the recent tragedy here.  Just wondering how it's affecting you personally... both ladies and gents... if at all.

I pay zero attention to anything that the media says about LE & the hobby other than for entertainment purposes.  Twenty years ago when I used to troll for Combat Zone street walkers I worried about that stuff. Stick with well-reviewed ladies and established agencies. Stay away from CL and unknown quantities.

I don't answer nosy questions from people I don't know that could be from LE.

I believe this current threatening/crackdown by civic officials will end not only the hobby, but any desire to hobby.

Since I need to think of a new hobby, I believe, stamp collecting will be my answer.  It is still legal to lick a stamp.

Actually... I believe there is a new bill going before the house to ban "licking" of stamps. They decided that philatelic was too close to phallus, and feel that the population might get confused as to which object needed to be licked.

I must chime in.  I am a newbie to the hobby.  If you stick with well reviewed providers and reputable agencies your odds of walking into a sticky situation decrease tremendously, or go to RI before they close the loophole.  Good Luck. Uncle LEO will always be cracking down on something.  Due to all the publicity around CL for the next few months this will be LEO's pet project.

That's understandable.  I'm an unknown quantity.  Just looking to do my best to avoid LE myself.

That's precisely what I'm going to do.  I started by browsing CL, but I'm not even looking there now.

I'm going to give things a couple of weeks anyway due to sheer paranoia.  I'll read tons of reviews and take things cautiously.
