Time and money trying to build a following and then you post an opinion that is controversial or defend a poster you like that's paid you or slam a guy or another provider you don't like and immediately alienate those that do like him or her.

I enjoy discussing religion, politics and even the third rail of sports with anyone, and not hold it against them; but even with that said, I know one time I got so turned off by a provider's opinions about something that I made a mental note not to see them again, despite having a very good session with them.

It may be less than an ideal state of affairs, but that's the way the world works.

I'm in a business myself, and many is the time I'd love to give some customer what-for about something, but I have to hold my tongue.

I was just honestly shocked.  I forget that some, though few I hope, guys have these opinions. I've been in this business, first as a hobbyist for about 5 years, then the last 3 years as a provider.  I have never had anyone treat me in that manner.  I can apologize for my colorful terms but that was just shock that came out lol.

I was talking  about being dumb enough to post an opinion that may be accepted by some and not by others on this or any type board that you are trying to make a positive impression . I was not implying that in session a vigorous and interesting discussion in between rounds was unwelcome. I keep WW on the ignore user list so I had to log out of VIP to read her post, I not surprised she was offended at a post that was on a small biz site that basically said dont post rants on the web as you may be great but you will be misunderstood or worse look stupid for misunderstanding the tone or meaning of what you just read then went spastic on. I wasn't saying any of that to judge, to drum up business, or anything.  I posted that purely as a woman who felt shock and disrespect.   telling someone off and standing up against gender disrespect are different things to me.

Some of the best times I've ever had as a hobbiest were with lady's I disagreed on just about everything from politics to sports  to whether the Atlantic was superior to the pacific, one of my ATF providers sexy Toni is a true blue Yankees fan and Jamey from vgf was a Canucks fan, I cannot remember which I found worse,   My post was hijacked and moved to a philosophical debate on whether women should voice their opinion? I was simply stating that if you pay all that money for ads and photos and hotel rooms etc. and take time to monitor the boards, I find it amazing that a provider will shoot herself in the foot by posting opinions and get in the middle of debates that will only offend or turn off a good percentage of their potential buying audience, that was the gist of the article I read online that I mentioned.

I saw it as good intended  advice to remain out of the fray as Nicole said. Impressions on the board are nothing more than thoughts or opinions posted by people you really dont know. Why bicker if it will create a representation of you that may turn off potential clients? Oh, I forgot your opinion is worth more than a few bucks..blah blah blah..just to prove how cool and laid back you are? posting you have rolls of fat and stood up a few guys in the past is also plain stupid, I posted candid advice on running a web type business from Manta because they are huge and thats what they do. I found it interesting and informative and though some lady's might too.

The post was written in a series of do's and dont's by Manta tip of the day.  the online  marketplace they have 40000 twitter followers and have grown at a tremendous pace. I'm not sure why but it seems that it struck a nerve with posters who seem  to thrive on controversy.as for being a horse arse or not I personally agree that when marketing yourself to potential hobbiest on a fuck board political, theological and other views if extreme maybe should be kept under wraps until you have a more personal relationship. I agree with the view that if you stay above the fray and not offend any potential customer it's a better approach. I have customers that are ignorant to me and my help and sometimes I would like to respond but its bad business. If I posted on my website that fucking girls half my age was my hobby, rather than " on my off time I enjoy watching sports and coaching my sons hockey team" I may be true to myself but at quite a steep cost. I don't believe that any press is good press that's utter nonsense.
