Nelly's "post" got me thinking abot going.
I have never attended a M&G as I am not sure why there would be a good reason to go.
The gatherings are very relaxed and cordial, much like any cocktail party, but this really is a cock & tail party.
Generally, a nice group of people attend. The organizers do a good job of selecting the venue, and providing food & drink, at very reasonable cost for the guys. Ladies are free, of course. I attend because it is a fun time.
They are fun. Accurate description of the cock tail party. Good opportunity to meet providers & hobbyists. I think everyone goes in with their own mindset. But the people I've met have been really nice, casual atmosphere & good laughs. If you want, generally you can set up an appointment before or after the party hours, if that's your goal. Or you can go for the social aspect of it. Not much different from a typical business meeting, but the chicks are sexier.
Yes, it is a nice way of meeting others. From my point of view, a nice way of putting a face to a name. I originally attended my first M&G a few years ago in Boston just so some gents could put a face on my pics.
The atmosphere is much like an after hours work get together, without talking about work. C'mon many of us have been to way too many of those after work parties...ie, hate the boss, this job sucks, etc. Relax, have a good time, meet some really great people, and...don't talk about the business. Loves and Kisses Boston...I'll be back in town!
I recall a few select ladies would get together and invite their favorite client to join them and meet other women to keep things lively and to continue good business practice (B2B). I would love an invite.

So far I've only been able to attend one Boston M&G a couple of year's ago, maybe longer. I always seem to have a trip already scheduled for a week before or a week after!
I attended several in Tampa, one in Hollywood Beach, FL and all were fun and I met some great people!
